nice place, nice food, nice service. Those that eat there are probobly expensing it off an account or our taxes. All suits and ties. Don't get me wrong food is good and so is the service it's just way more expensive than it should be. Lunch is 14-20 per person without tea or a drink. Nice but I'll try the... More

Sitting adjacent to Hemming Park and inside the Museum of Contemporary Art is the dining surprise in downtown Jacksonville. The menu is so interesting and varied, I had a difficult time determining my lunch order. Based on the waiter's recommendation, I tried the Shrimp & Grits. It was the best Shrimp & Grits, I have ever had. The grits are... More

We actually tried the Mother's Day brunch today. The atmosphere was eclectic and the food was fresh and flavorful. Even the kids food was well thoughtful. However, parking was kind of a nightmare and I thought the price point was too high. We also visited MOCA, which is easy when dining here.

Ordered the $16 grouper salad for lunch, I'm thinking it was maybe 2 ounces of fish, maybe 3 fork fulls worth. The bread that came out first was the best part of the meal, nice homemade flavored butter, good atmosphere you can watch the goers by downtown, but I will not be going back. For this price could have gone... More

Hmm, what are the positives. Ambience was nice, it was in the museum. Food, was ok, it needed a little seasoning, but good. Service with a smile, didn't get it. Our waiter "j" was a lacking a little. He appeared to be a little preoccupied. But overall it was ok, would I come again; no. But you may enjoy it.

A little cafe in the Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art. Somewhat upscale, eclectic menu with lunch entrees averaging $10 - $12. Portions are ample, almost big enough to share. Good selection of salads, wraps, and other luncheon fare. You wouldn't want to eat there every day but it's convenient if you are visiting the museum.

There didn't seem much to choose from in the downtown area. As my wife and I walked to the Museum of Contemporary Art we saw that it had a Cafe. Our experiences with cafes in European Museums have all been positive so we decided to give it a try. The food selection was good and intriguing, but more important, it... More

We went in a large group - approximately 20 (and another large party arrived at the same time). The staff was very quick for our order. Food was a bit slow to arrive but what can you expect when they are hit with that many at once. The dinner rolls were tasty---I think it was banana butter! There are a... More

I had a very good meal with a group of about 20 fellow conference attendees. The service and food were above what one might expect from a museum restaurant. Pleasant, bright, with modern food and well-sourced ingredients.

When I visit JAX, which is frequently (except in the heat of summer), this is my must-do restaurant downtown. Cafe NOLA (which stands for something) is tucked inside the art museum next to the public library, and is well known and well-attended by the local crowd. Short but great imaginative, artistic menu, with dynamite daily specials. Today I ordered the... More
