Good grilled cheese sandwich

Good food - upscale bistro type menu. I had a half grilled cheese and salad. The grilled cheese was made with havarti dill. Very unusual and very tasty. Salad was fresh, organic greens, not overdressed.

The highlight of any trip to Hemming Plaza has to be lunch at Cafe Nola. Sandwiched between (no pun!) the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Main Library, Cafe Nola is one of the shining stars of Downtown. The seasonal, often monthly menu, is always a delight, and the offerings have something for every palate and diet. Modern, sleek, as... More

What a pleasant surprise is tucked in the foyer of MOCA! Excellent menu, many daily specials. Black bean burger + homemade sweet potato chips: super! Pasta: excellent and generous portion. Service was attentive and prompt. I want to try the grilled cheese, onion soup, shrimp'n'grits, and many other items on the menu. We stopped in after reviewing menus of other... More

This is by far one of the best restaurants in Jacksonville. It's a "sleeper" location because it's tucked away in the MOCA. However, those of us that are familiar with its great menu and service, wish to keep it a secret. Otherwise, we will have a hard time getting a table. Shhhh. Everything is made to order, the soups are... More

This is a lovely café tucked inside MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) in downtown Jacksonville. My companion and I both had salads - hers was roasted beets and fingerling potatoes on a bed of kale with beet frizzles. Mine was a fantastic Japanese noodle salad with shrimp that had a bed of spring greens and a balsamic dressing. The restaurant... More

I had the blackened catch of the day. It was my 1st time having tile fish. The fish was on top if a creamy corn and surrounded by crispy collards. The dish was well crafted and the taste combination was spot on.

A fabulous spot tucked inside MOCA Jacksonville. The ambiance is clean, light, and open--as you might expect of a contemporary art museum. The menu is fresh and eclectic but trends toward southern-style dishes, ie. the sweet potato nachos. For my main, I usually order the black bean burger or the beet salad.

nice place, nice food, nice service. Those that eat there are probobly expensing it off an account or our taxes. All suits and ties. Don't get me wrong food is good and so is the service it's just way more expensive than it should be. Lunch is 14-20 per person without tea or a drink. Nice but I'll try the... More

Sitting adjacent to Hemming Park and inside the Museum of Contemporary Art is the dining surprise in downtown Jacksonville. The menu is so interesting and varied, I had a difficult time determining my lunch order. Based on the waiter's recommendation, I tried the Shrimp & Grits. It was the best Shrimp & Grits, I have ever had. The grits are... More

We actually tried the Mother's Day brunch today. The atmosphere was eclectic and the food was fresh and flavorful. Even the kids food was well thoughtful. However, parking was kind of a nightmare and I thought the price point was too high. We also visited MOCA, which is easy when dining here.
