This is one of two places that I will visit when anywhere near jaxport. They only take cash. The seafood is fresh and cones in good portion sizes.

My son and I came for lunch. The place is a shack so if you are upscale or pretentious, it may not be for you. Every single thing we ordered was nothing short of delicious. We tried the chowder and it was like no chowder I have had, red broth with fish and seafood, potatoes and carrot and celery. YUM!... More

Saw this on trip advisor, was looking for a seafood restaurant and this one caught my eye. Was not expecting what I got, small place, only 3 people working it,only had like 5 tables and a bar. But the food was great had the blackened Mahi-mahi sandwich, superb. Wasn't all that pleased with the chowder but I'm more of a... More

We make it a point to visit here every year. The chowder is terrific, one of the best you will ever have, but make sure you get there early because they run out. My wife considers their chowder as her favorite anywhere. Worth the drive, very friendly service and very affordable. Perfect for lunch.

We decided to go here based on reviews. We drove right by the first time. It is very unassuming and looks like an old empty building. We ordered 1/2 pot if soup to share (which I assumed was a cup) it was actually a cooking pot. It was out if this world. A red chowder with veggies, scallops, crawfish, ect.... More

This place is very tiny and doesn't look like they are even open, except for all the locals. I had the special, which was blackened tuna steak on spring mix salad. It was fantastic and the bill was amazingly cheap. Staff was very friendly and personable. Just bring cash because they are not setup for credit cards. Highly recommended!

Chowder Ted's has a very friendly staff and it's a nice and quaint little spot. The good is definitely worth the drive. We started with the Conch Fritters then had the Oyster Po boy and Chowder which were all so delicious!! I can't wait to come back to Florida to eat here again. I'm glad I found it her on... More

I have a number of people tell me numerous places to eat seafood in Jacksonville but none compare to Teds. Gotta have the chowder. Unbelievable!! Get there early and don't be put off by the looks. Go on in and have yourself a fantastic meal. Virtually a 2-3 person show but everything is serves fresh and quick. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.... More

I am spending a couple of nights in Jacksonville so I thought I would check out Tripadvisor and find a good seafood place. I live in Ohio and love seafood which doesn't work very well. So I read some reviews and find Ted's. Man am I glad I did. It is really really good. It is my kind of place.... More

So found this place on Tripadvisor and knew we had to visit!!! We arrived in Jacksonville for the weekend around 6:30 that evening, checked in hotel and called Chowder Teds for closing time. Was told they close at 8 but if we were in by 7:45 they'd feed us, sounded like a plan. It's now 7:20 and we are speeding... More
