The new digs is very comfortable. Food was better than average. A good variety of German/Bavarian dishes. Ample portions. We'll be back.

I LOVE this place. The new location is a huge step up from the old one! For an appetizer, try the Sausage Sauerkraut Balls - they are awesome!!! I prefer the schnitzels over the sausage platters here as I found the wursts to be just "OK".

I went to the Schnitzel House in Jacksonville with 6 friends last week. First impression - nice place, friendly bartender, nice selection of beers. Then we sat down and the rest of the experience was downhill. Out waiter seemed preoccupied and disorganized. Not very friendly or attentive. We ordered potato pancakes and sausage plate as appetizers. When they finally arrived,... More

We were drawn to check out this restaurant by a coupon deal and as we enjoy German cuisine and have been to both Germany and Austria, we had tempered hopes we might have found a decent local option to have some authentic German meals. We went on a seemingly quiet night and our waitress was pleasant and courteous and comfortable... More

Overall, we enjoyed the Schnitzel Haus. I agree with other reviewers about the high-backed furniture creating a more formal atmosphere in a place you expect to be a bit more social. I liked the festive look of the old place based on photos posted. A little German or European music would have helped, too. It almost seemed like the owners... More

We tried...no better in its new hidden location. It's clear the 'owners' have not been to a real German restaurant. The interior of the new location is anything, but homey and German. The dumplings were the craze in the old place, but now are simply terrible (can't believe we had to leave them on the plate!) and the signature dish,... More

We tried their new location because we loved their dumplings which they used to routinely be out of. Now they changed their dumpling recipe and they are terrible. Now there is definitely no reason to come back. Their last manager Elena should have stayed as she was getting them on the right track.

Went to the Schnitzel house when it was across Atlantic several years ago. I went with a friend from Germany. It was really bad. Decided to give it a try at there new location. Guess what? Still really bad. I don't understand how they continue to operate. I guess The locals have never had real German food.

My family went here for Mother's Day dinner and we were all so disappointed .....we had been to the old location and loved it. The waitress said she had been there only 2 days and then another young girl came over and said she was taking over.....she didn't seem to know anymore than the first one....it was a guessing game...
