Very disappointing. We had a reservation at 8pm for our anniversary. Have visited many times before and always left happy, but should have known something was wrong when firstly it 'smelt funny' when we walked in then there were only 2 other guests in the restaurant. The service was excellent, although a little rushed - probably because she had no... More

Amber Bistro is nestled on the same sweet side street as Bridges. It’s small restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining. The patio dining has white tablecloths while inside the tables are wooden bistro style. I prefer the tablecloths even for a casual meal. The cuisine is a creative mélange of East meets West. Portions are substantial, prices competitive, and... More

My husband and I had dinner at Amber Bistro. The food was quite good, especially the duck spring rolls.

I was there with a party of 4 just 4 days ago on a Sunday at 6:30. Only 2 other tables occupied in entire restaurant. Service was very pleasant but something must have been going on in the kitchen because it took an hour for entrée to arrive and another hour for the dessert to arrive. Wait staff never came... More

Located conveniently across the street from a wine tasting room, the Amber Bistro is a better option than Bridges. The food is excellent, the wine menu well thought out, and the service always friendly.

Ok, just to get it out of the way first, this isn't the least expensive place around - there are cheaper options. There are more expensive ones also. To give you perspective, my bill for one plate and 2 glasses of wine with tip (no appetizers or dessert) was a little North of $60. Entree's float around 30, with steaks... More

While the menu is not large, one has a good choice of fish and meat dishes and some very creative appetizers. The gazpacho was an alternative version of this iconic cold summer soup but the taste was smooth and rich. The nut crusted halibut on a bed of farro was superb....balanced flavors, beautifully presented and filling. The service was attentive,... More

I usually bring visitors and business colleagues to lunch at Amber Bistro. Their food is reliably good (though not out of this world), the price point is reasonable, and their service is always above average. In addition, they have a wonderful outdoor patio.

We prefer to eat on the terrace on a sunny day (hey there are 300 of those every year here)> The sidewalk terrace faces Bridges Restaurant and is part of an attractive side parking street to these two restaurants in busy downtown Danville. Really professional service. Popular owner. Interior is high class but the acoustics are overwhelmingly - well difficult... More

We went to Amber recently after over year's absence. What a disappointment. We used to like this place, but no more. Our food was just okay, but the atmosphere stunk. Even though the place was almost empty, it was noisy with a jazz duo that was much too loud. Never again.
