My husband and I took a couple of friends from San Francisco to this restaurant for a weekday lunch get-together. The place was not busy because it was a week day. We chose to dine outside where the sun shines comfortably overlooking a tranquil environment. It gave us the feel of Napa Valley dining experiences. The restaurant has an elegant... More

I had high hopes for this restaurant since it's located in the "exclusive" city of Blackhawk. I was disappointed. The food was average, but pricey. I had the steak; it was tough and lacked flavor. The apple fritter dessert was nice, but I would have liked the apples to have been softer. They were crunchy. My dining companion did like... More

We came here for Valentines Day dinner, The place is beautiful, staff were nice, and food was very good. The problem was the service, We were given the wrong entree, and had to wait for them to bring the correct one, we had to ask twice for our glass of wine we had ordered, and when bill came we had... This was our first time at the new remodeled/redone Blackhawk Grille. They've done a great job! The food was very good; the service was excellent; and the atmosphere is posh without being the pretentiousness you sometimes get in Blackhawk. Great job and a great spot to go!

Family and friends experienced the Grille in it's pre-remodel and post remodel. Promising start, great sunday brunch on the patio and a choice of small plates, pub food to more high end cuisine. Twice recently we have been disapointed by the food. I think the cooks can't keep up with the demand or the servers can't keep up with the... More

We ate a very early dinner on a week night at the Blackhawk Grille. We ate in the bar area during happy hour so we tried the special brie with apricot jam. When the appetizer came it was a single "cheese stick" cut in half with 2 tsps of apricot jam and 4 crackers for $9. It was very good... More

We went on a week day for lunch at 11AM. so it was very quiet. We sat outside with a wonderful view of the center overlooking the duck pond. The service was great and the lunch was good. Our server checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely have lunch there again.

Pathetic service- coupled with average food.We just returned and had a disappointing experience on a slowTuesday night at around 630 pm. I completely lay the blame on management ( lack of) and bland food and or over salted. The only reason we can say one star is that the tool requires an entry...... cant blame all of the service staff... More

This is in the Blackhawk Plaza, and you have to walk aways to get there. Several other places to eat available too. In nice weather the patio is nice to watch the fish and ducks, and people watch. It can be a bit noisy depending on your neighbors. Food was only average, prices in line with Blackhawk area.

In the past I remember the menu as being pricey. They revamped it, have the same menu in the bar and restaurant - with the exception of the bar which also has happy hour from 2 p.m. to 10 (or closing - cannot remember). I had the happy hour brussel sprouts - OMG! They were flash fried and absolutely fantastic.... More
