Nice Outdoor Patio, Good Service

We hadn't been to Basil Leaf in at least 8 years as we previously had a less than stellar experience. We went on a Friday night during "Danville Prime Time" and were able to get a great outdoor table. We were surprised that the place never filled up the whole time we were there. I loved the... read more

My friends took me to this delightful restaurant for lunch! I selected the Cheese Tortellini with peas, mushroom and prosciutto in cream sauce and was wonderfully surprised with the perfect balance of all the ingredients! The atmosphere was charming and the outdoor dining area was wonderful!

This restaurant has been in Danville for quite awhile. I'm not sure why, because the food has never been outstanding. But it was always good enough for a lunch. It has nice outdoor seating and a pleasant atmosphere. The Caesar salad with grilled shrimp was average at best. The shrimp were excellent, but the lettuce was lots of dark green... More

My wife chose the Basil Leaf for her birthday dinner. We have not been here in a while and wondered how things might have changed. We enjoyed our meal, on the patio outside without feeling rushed. We had reservations, but being a Monday night we probably didn't need them. We tried the Antipasti platter and were pleased with the selection... More

I used to eat here a lot. Then I took a break for a few years. I have eaten here for dinner a few times in the past couple of months and my impressions are these: the food is fine, the service is fine and the patio is lovely. You will have a nice meal, but nothing memorable. There are... More

An updated menu, more fresh ingredients mixed with standard Italian entrees and a prompt, courteous wait staff make for a happy dining experience. Highly recommend you use the outdoor seating. Shaded with a light breeze.

We've eaten at the Basil Leaf many times and have always enjoyed it. We prefer eating outside when possible. The restaurant is very nice. The waitstaff have always been very good. The menu is essentially Italian. I like the veal picatta. Nice wine list. The price is in-line with Danville.

Very disappointed. Food was bland and uneventful. Asked for a vegan option, and the waitress said point blank to me, "oh we don't cater to those types of people" I kid you not! I choose a simple vegetable appetizer, and called it a day... Would never return. In a State where we are in year 4 of a drought, not... More

The majority of the restaurants we have been to in downtown Danville have been extraordinary unfortunately this was not one of them. My girlfriend made reservations here for Valentine's Day in hopes of having a romantic night out. Thankfully our day was so amazing prior to dinner that this only ruined two hours out of time together. We arrived at... More

We stopped by on the way to the airport, had a terrific lunch and great service, nice glass of Californian Chardonnay to accompany the meal.
