A nice local restaurant

We've eaten at the Basil Leaf many times and have always enjoyed it. We prefer eating outside when possible. The restaurant is very nice. The waitstaff have always been very good. The menu is essentially Italian. I like the veal picatta. Nice wine list. The price is in-line with Danville.

Very disappointed. Food was bland and uneventful. Asked for a vegan option, and the waitress said point blank to me, "oh we don't cater to those types of people" I kid you not! I choose a simple vegetable appetizer, and called it a day... Would never return. In a State where we are in year 4 of a drought, not... More

The majority of the restaurants we have been to in downtown Danville have been extraordinary unfortunately this was not one of them. My girlfriend made reservations here for Valentine's Day in hopes of having a romantic night out. Thankfully our day was so amazing prior to dinner that this only ruined two hours out of time together. We arrived at... More

We stopped by on the way to the airport, had a terrific lunch and great service, nice glass of Californian Chardonnay to accompany the meal.

The chef likes to mix things up for variety. He came to our table for an opinion of one of his desserts, you feel like they are tailoring a meal just for you. Salads are outstanding, the pasta dishes are plentiful and delicious. I had fish, and my wife had steak, both excellent. A no brainer.

Their Tomato Basil Bisque is heavenly, and I love their salads! The salads i make at home are inspired by Basil Leaf. Its a lovely place to bike to in the afternoons and sit outside and dine.

It's a casual and comfortable atmosphere, attentive service and our pasta dishes and salads were very good. We had four different pasta dishes served with gluten free pasta which was indistinguishable from the "real thing", and that's rare! Good red wine was reasonably priced too!

We were driving through Danville and found The Basil Leaf Cafe. The food was outstanding as was the service. My wife and I were extremely glad we stopped and found a new place to eat.

Have been a long time favorite. They are always very accommodating if I don't see my favorite (Linguini with mushrooms) on the menu. Can be a little noisy when the inside restaurant is full. The outdoor dining is greast when the weather is mild.

I went here this morning for Sunday brunch with my aunt and sister. My sister's an adult in a wheelchair. The brunch was pretty decent, but as we were leaving, my sister wanted to use the restroom before a long drive home. The restrooms were marked with the blue disabled accessible sign, but they were down a long, narrow corridor.... More
