Nice place with great service. Food was not so hot. Appetizers were listless despite promising descriptions. The veggie quesadilla was very bland and tasted fried. Could not taste the mushrooms and squash. Nachos were soupy. The chipotle crema was flavorless. Taquitos were filled but one couldn't taste the filling with the heavily fried tortillas. Fortunately, the guacamole and salsa saved... More

Restaurant service is very good! Good Location, average food. Only one decent TV at the bar so if your there you watch what the bartender wants (wouldn't change the station for us).

My friends and I enjoyed a hot East Bay evening overlooking the fountains and ducks. The food was very good and satisfying. The guacamole was delicious. My burrito was enormous (took almost 1/2 home!) and delicious. My friends had fish tacos and a yummy looking salad. We all liked our meals and the wine. Drinks served at neighboring tables looked... This was the second time our family dined here. The first time was a busy Sunday afternoon and the place was packed, and I honestly don't have any recall of the experience as we were watching the clock to get to the airport on time. This second time was a Friday afternoon and we, ( 8 of us ), dined... More

OK Main stream Mexican food. I was a bit disappointed. There were a couple of unusual items on the menu, but for the most part is was the usual fajitas, burritos, tacos, yada yada yada. The refried beans were so dry they were crusty. The outside seating was nice and the prices were reasonable..

The Prickly Pear is in the Blackhawk Plaza and was always one of my first picks for good Mexican food and tasty margaritas when I lived in the area. They have a nice outdoor patio, which is perfect on a hot east bay evening. Good friendly service. I really like their chicken nachos!

It's Cheers in Blackhawk, food is very good, service is great, and a fun vibe. They are very creative with the margaritas.

Had lunch @ Rodney Worth's Prickly Pear, Danville. Menu is extensive, should be choices to suit everyone's taste. Those who ordered Margaritas enjoyed the unusual preparations. Environment is very upscale and in the same location as the Blackhawk Auto Museum.

When we are in the mood for good Mexican food we always come to The Prickly Pear. They always treat us well and have great outdoor seating.

I found this restaurant on Tripadvisor while visiting family in the Walnut Creek, CA area. A wonderful outdoor patio on the plaza. Ordered Chile Relleno and Famosa burrito which could easily shared by two.
