good choice for diner food

If you visit the FDR library or visit someone at a nearby college,,, this diner is convenient. Food was very good. We had eggs, omlettes, as well as sandwiches for lunch and everyone was satisifed. The french onion soup was delicious, but a bit cold. Also their coffee was kind of flat, not much... read more

Hamburger bun had mold on it - how does that happen with such a high turn over item. Turkey sandwich had dressing on it - that didn't work and it was way too big. I hate throwing away food. Waitress' clothes were stained and her shirt was unbuttoned. Wish I had just ordered a milkshake.

Here it is. Looks like an old fashion diner. Huge menu, everything made from scratch.we have been quite a few times, al great. After a great meal have a wonderful dessert, all from scratch. This place rocks. If you watch Diners Drive ins and Dives Guy has been here and mentions this place from time to time. It's that good.... More

Had breakfast here on a weekday morning with my friend while visiting Hyde Park. My bagel (made on the premises according to the waitress) was perfect and to my surprise the OJ I ordered was fresh squeezed. My friend had the typical egg / home fries/ toast breakfast which was good (he's a master at making breakfast, so I'm not... More

I visited here twice in 48 hours. It was next to our hotel. Once for lunch, once for dinner. I must say I am impressed at their ability to handle a large and fast crowd. A full restaurant, on a Sunday afternoon and then again on a Monday morning. Sunday lunch was great. The food was better than expected. Monday... More

WE use to go here when my daughter went to college nearby. It was excellent, she loved it. We stopped here for lunch recently and waited an hour for food . Of the 4 of us , one got served overly brown waffles, the others nothing. The table across from sat down after us, got served and left before the... More

If you're looking for a no frills, delicious diner meal, this is it. Our whole group loved what they ate. It seems as if some of the nearby Culinary Institute students might work in the kitchen!

We have been to the Eveready a few times while visiting Hyde Park and the food has always been exceptional and the service equally good. The art deco details are amazing and I wish I could transplant the diner to my home town.

We spent the day at the FDR home and were looking for something different. We found it. The menu selection was large and varied. My wife and I both had breakfast for dinner. Her pancakes were good. My red velvet pancakes were awesome. No doubt anyone would be able to find something good here.
