Was looking forward to a great steak dinner, and had one! The Rib Eye was cooked as asked and with Joseph's onions and mushrooms, there were no complaints! Tried to keep room for dessert, but couldn't resist the beef barley soup and warm Italian bread. A perfect meal on this cold winter night with 5 star service! Will be back...

It has been a long winter but this review has brought a little sunshine. Our beef barley is also one of my favorite soups, made from our outstanding angus steaks. Glad you enjoy your dinner, we try to give every customers a great meal and a nice dinning experience. People like you make this a pleasure. Joseph More

Let's see, where do I start. Salads! Gritty. Asparagus! Gritty. Chicken dry and way over cooked and probably IQF. The other guests at our table had beef and they all thought it was tough and flavorless. This is too bad as we are residents of Hyde Park and we so want to have a good restaurant to which we can... I take a lot of pride in our food. Not to sure this review is from a real customer. The day of your visit was August of 2013 and you send this on March 2014. Something is a little fishy, but you said, that you had dry chicken. The only chicken dish we have is Chicken Marsala and no way... More

I had been looking forward to trying this steakhouse and treating my bf to a nice meal out. We ordered drinks and a calamari appetizer. The calamari was excellent. For steak I ordered the rib eye. The flavor was good, it was juicy, and not overcooked, but... it was not the best cut of meat and had some toughness to... More

The flavor was good, it was juicy, not over cooked but you were disappointed. All of our steaks are good and juicy but our dry aged steaks are what you need to try if you want that something special. The dry age a bone in Rib Eye, NY Strip and Porterhouse that are all outstanding. In fact the dry aged... More

We must have been there on an off night as our steaks were not what we expected, especially after reading all the positive reviews. It was a very dreary night that we went so there were only another table or two occupied. Therefore the service was spot on. The calamari appetizer was excellent and filling. But the main reason for... More

I am glad someone enjoyed your T bone but sorry you did not. We cut that steak to order and should not be dry or tasteless. The t bone is cut off the short loin and is mostly sirloin with a lot of flavor. We also dry aged this steak and it is usually very favorful. If you ever do... More

We were in the area after Christmas. I had to come here for the aged steak. I am glad that I did. I saw a bad review and I saw the owner’s response and thought it was great. This made me come and see the place for myself. The steak and all the food was great I would tell you... More

I came here for my birthday dinner and I had the 12 oz. filet. It was the best steak I've ever had. The service was great and the owner was so nice and friendly. This is now my favorite restaurant and I will be back very soon 😃

My husband and I wanted to go out for a great steak. We live in LaGrange and I googled steakhouses. We choose Joseph's and were so happy. The place is quite quaint, my only suggestion would be to make the second dining area to look like main dining room because it is charming. With that said, everything we ordered was... More

First thank you for the nice review. Five stars for food and service that's a winner. I also think the main dining room is charming. In case you did not know this room was once Eleanor Roosevelt's tea room in the 1930's. We try to maintain that charm and it is still called the Tea Room. But the second dining... More

Let me preface this review with first stating that I have never eaten here! My best friend, who lives nearby, has a birthday coming up and I know she and her husband love this restaurant. I live in California and thought a gift certificate from Joseph's would be nice to give her as a birthday gift. Unfortunately, there was not... More

We chose Joseph's based on other reviews about the beef. We agree wholeheartedly with the reviews - the beef is superb. They know what "medium-rare" is, and all the steaks brought to our table were perfectly cooked. The shrimp cocktail and soup were excellent. The soup was home-made, with chunks of beef, lentils, and a rich sauce. We had the... More

Nice when we get a four courses review. The Shrimp cocktail is that good because it is made fresh daily. The homemade soup that day was our Beef Barley. I think this is my favorite of the homemade soups that we make. In case you did not know the beef in that soup are pieces of NY strip steak and... More

Went to Joseph's out of a google pick. WOW! We were not disappointed at all. We were sat down right away on a Saturday night, even though it was crowded, there are plenty of tables. Service was friendly and timely. Best part was the meal, large menu, generous portions and top quality meat. The restaurant is a little out of... More
