We had a delicious meal at Joseph's Steakhouse. We are visiting from New York City, like many here do. The service was above and beyond. Our server, Michael, was especially friendly, and provided helpful advice to us to make our stay in Hyde Park great. In fact, when we lamented that we didn't have a car and were relying on... More

Friends/Food/Wine - What's not to love. As a friend was coming from Boston, six of wanted to find a place where we could eat, drink, and spend some time together. We did! We met a Joseph's Steakhouse for lunch. The eggplant stacks were delicious, as was the wine, the company, and the visit from Joseph. What a lovely 5 Star... More

On the spur of the moment on a Friday night we called Joseph's for reservations. They had a table for us a bit later than we requested and after eating there I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We opted to order a bottle of wine from their wine list. My husband is the wine expert. He had no difficulty choosing... More

Your first impression may be that this is an understated space, a little off the main track......but then you'll meet Joe Wilson, a very upbeat and friendly owner, who does his utmost to make sure his customers are happy with their dining experience, and the place warms up. He'll tell you that he has the best steaks around. He's right.... More

Prime rib was awesome, garlic mashed potatoes were o.k. but almost cold, green beans undercooked. Butternut squash soup was tastie but lukewarm. Apple crisp was good and warm, but ice cream on it was almost all the way melted when served. Had to ask for more bread. Service was average. Very nice waiter. He was very busy, though. This may... Incredible waiter, amazing steak....amazing German cuisine (chef if German, fyi)....better than being in Germany. Superb, carefully prepared and authentic. Best steak my husband has had in years. Combined with a waiter with an amazing personality...out night was splendid at Joseph's, which is housed in the former potting studios of Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill. Located just outside of Val-Kill...so after our amazing... More

My wife and I are from Central NJ. We are spending a few days in Hyde Park, NY. We decided to take advantage of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and have dinner at Joseph’s Steakhouse and we are glad that we did. Our meals, drinks, presentation, service and atmosphere were wonderful. Joseph and his staff were very accommodating. Also enjoyed the... More

Very good food and excellent service. Extensive selection of steaks and a few other entrees (such as chicken, bratwurst, fish). Non-descript location, but nice interior and great bar. My suggestion would be to splurge and order the more expensive cuts of steak, because that's where the value and great experience come in. I ordered a cheaper cut, and while it... More

We visited this past Sunday after a VERY long day at a cheer competition. The food was fairly good but the service was EXCELLENT! Our waiter was very attentive! We came with our tired 6yr old and he bent over backwards for her NEVER saying no! She was laying in the booth he came by with something for her to... More

We split (my wife and I) the "bone in" rib eye. More than enough. Flavor was exceptional. Good Caesar salad. Baked potato and sauteed mushrooms were fine.
