Great Food for Reasonable Prices

The food here is amazing and offers a sampling of the rising great chefs at the CIA. When I went here, I got a Foccia Sandwich and a Granita drink both of which were fantastic at a reasonable price.

I was really excited to try this place; unfortunately, they were out of a lot of menu items when I arrived. I tried the mac and cheese. I didn't like it. I went around 2:45 pm. I probably would have had better luck earlier in the day. The student staff was very nice. It's a cute place.

This is the Culinary Institute of America so our expectations may have been too high, but the food was not as good as I could have purchased at a diner up the road. Don't order the mac n cheese, crab cake or fish n' chips. One member of our party enjoyed the steak, so that may be a safe bet.... More

We've enjoyed breakfast coffee and pastries, as well as lunches at the Apple Pie. It has a cozy atmosphere with a view of student chefs passing by on their way to classes. There are many pastries displayed for your choice, and the sandwiches and salads available for lunch are unique, delicious, and not weird. It's possible to order entire cakes... More

You would expect (or at least hope) that a meal at the Culinary Institute would be memorable, even in this case a takeout panini sandwich from the cafe. We hadn't intended to eat at the cafe but the other restaurants were either closed or had too long a wait, so we stood in line here and discovered that it was... More

This cafe is in the heart of the Culinary's campus. It is run by the students. Food is outrageous, service is what you want, everywhere.

Tried to "walk in" at the Bocuse, then, the "American" Restaurant, but not so surprisingly, discovered neither is open for lunch and you need a reservation for seating. Went down the hall, to the Apple Pie Bakery Café, that is staffed by Students, all versed in Service and well trained well in the art of serving customers.. Had the Burger... More

Always love coming here. The student staff are really out going and the food is terrific. This last visit I had the crab cake and for dessert the blueberry lemon macaron. Both were delicious. The visit wouldn't be complete without dropping by the bookstore.

If you are in the area, stop by the CIA for a meal. The Apple Pie Bakery Cafe is worth a trip just to look at the wonderful pastries on display or have a light snack even if you aren't ready for a meal. I had a delicious kale salad with spiced nuts, grapefruit wedges and an amazing dressing. I... More
