Always excellent

I love going to this café because it never disappoints. It is a fantastic place for lunch, and completely reasonably priced. Depending on the timing of the student shifts, The service can be spotty. If you visit the cia a stop at the apple pie bakery is a must. Try to get there when they first open when there aren't any lines. If you get there around lunchtime or afternoon the lines could be out the door and a lot of the yummy baked goods could be sold out. Everything is delicious and the... More

Dined here July 10,2015. The Apple Pie Bakery Café. Stopped in for quick lunch after finishing our walk over the Hudson. We got here in the late afternoon and were able to enjoy lunch. Unfortunately their entire pie selection were sold out. Summertime crowd makes it a busy place. Recommend getting in early since they prepare limited number of dessert... More

Wow. needed more time. Stopped by inbetween two tour of the Roosevelt locations. No reservation cafe on the Culinary institute campus. Cubano sandwhich was one of the best I ever had. Bread was perfect and pork absolutely tender and flavorful. Could have used more pickle but that is minor. Quinoa salad equally well done. French Macaroon with fresh red raspberries... More

Had lunch here to see if the buzz about the Culinary Institute was accurate, it is. Prepared food was excellent, bakery items were inventive and tasted great. My opinion, this is a destination worth going to experience, can't wait for our reservation date at one of the restaurants.

I was excited to visit the CIA, and the campus is very pretty. I opted for this more casual restaurant because it doesn't need reservations, and frankly, some of the reviews of the more elegant places on the campus left me unimpressed. This café is wonderful for lunch. I would estimate our wait time at about 15 minutes, then we... More

We stopped in here at the end of the day (3:30 or so) after seeing lots of people in line for lunch earlier in the day. But it was graduation day so a line would be expected. We just did take-out but got some delicious focaccia bread and "stuffed pretzel" which made for a delicious semi-light supper on the way... More

Cafe is a great place for lunch, an eclectic gourmet inspired menu, so don't expect burgers and fries are seasoned with black truffle salt. Even on a Monday we arrived before noon to a short wait, mostly because you give your order and pay before finding a table, the food is brought to the table. When we left the line... More

Both the dining area and the food preparation area are spotlessly clean. The CIA students do a terrific job here and the food and service are impeccable. Try the fresh pecan rolls.

This is a nice place for lunch with a varied menu and more casual than the other restaurants at the CIA. No reservations and one can order lunch, often a variety of salads or sandwiches and desserts which are lovely to look at and nice to bring home.
