We enjoy eating amazing meals while at home and traveling (for biz or pleasure) and therefore know good food; we live in the NYC metro area and occasionally eat at the high-end establishments, but we also enjoy a hole-in-the-wall that has amazing food. In other words; whatever the price or cuisine, if the food is good, we will go! The... More

What a wonderful place to enjoy delicious pastries, breads and coffee. The student's are doing amazing work offering a notable passion for what they do... Don't miss a chance to visit and sample treats for every taste!

Delicious baked items made by CIA students who also staff the restaurant. I enjoyed spicy Asian soup, with French macaroons for lunch. Visitor parking is close by.

I love this place. The menu selections are limited but great - and they have the best coffee in the Hudson valley. I make the hour trip because it is a wonderful cafe. The workers are so helpful and sweet - they are the CIA students, after all. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, coffee and lots of desserts to... More

Being a bakery hobbyist this place rocks. Stop in get a banquette, a few pastries, some cookies and you are set for a days driving south of north after.

Received an email from the CIA that this restaurant was going to be open on January 11. (it is not usually open on weekends) As I have enjoyed many great meals at the culinary, this was my opportunity to try the one that I had never visited. Only had coffee and a Ham/Cheese Danish there, but got all sorts of... More

The food was great, we had a good time. There can be long waits here. You wait in a line and order at a counter. Very cafeteria like feel which i wasnt crazy about. However the food is far from cafeteria quality. Would have rather been seated then ordered from a menu. Overall, would go again.

Soft, delicious bread, lightly toasted + avocado + watercress + goat cheese = best sandwich I've ever eaten. Pair that with truffle fries topped with parmesan, and you have an amazing lunch (without a reservation!). We got dessert for the road: a brownie pot (fudgy brownie topped with dark chocolate mousse) and a strawberry eclair. It was all delicious. I'll... More

Although I was originally disappointed that my husband and I could not get in to one of the regular restaurants at the Culinary Institute, I ended up being thrilled with the cafe. I had a shrimp salad that was beautifully presented and very tasty and my husband had a grilled cheese that was very unique and quite filling. We totally... More

My 1st visit ever to Hyde Park and the CIA. I was not disappointed. 1st stop was the Apple Pie Bakery Cafe. We were quite hungry when we arrived. The service and food is great. The most difficult part of the visit is narrowing down selections. I went back the next day for lunch. The lines were long, but the... More
