I thought I would treat myself to a nice steak dinner before heading into the mountains for my elk hunt. I walked in and decided to sit at the bar since it was next to the finning tables. The bar was horrible and outdated. I ordered a rib eye and received an okay steak but a nasty wilted salad and... More

We flew into Albuquerque and drove an hour to Grants on our way to the Grand Canyon. It was late and the first place we stopped to eat was closed. They suggested La Ventana. It's a little bit off the main drag, and it seemed dark. My husband went in to check it out and gave the thumbs up. We... More

Some of the meals seemed quite expensive. I had a Mexican meal [fajitas] which turned out fine. Decent atmosphere and a full bar. Seems quite a lot of places in Grants do not have a liquor license.

The lights were burned out in our area. Had to use the cell phone to read the menu. The food and service were good but nothing to rave about. I would give it a 3 out 5. Make sure you ask the definition of meat cooked medium. Mine was mooing.

We read mixed reviews but this actually turned out to be one of the best meals of a 12 night trip throughout the four corners area. Inside is dark but warm and friendly. Every person who helped us from the hostess to waitress to bus boy were professional and attentive. We had steak and a shrimp dish and both were... More

As a native New Mexican, I was surprised as anyone could be finding a wonderful dinner in the wilds of western New Mexico. Judging from the mixed reviews on TA it is not always fabulous, but we both had the house specialty, the steak and enchiladas. I thought it was wonderful. The enchilada sauce was pure New Mexico red chilies.... More

We went out for a steak in Grants on a Sunday evening.... not easy, it's closed! The owner however was there for a children's party and kindly directed us to Wow in nearby Milan. We returned on Monday to be greeted by said owner as a long lost friend! The steaks were great, service was friendly and the atmosphere warm.... More

Excellent food and service - a large variety of items in addition to steak. If we get back to Grants, we will definitely revisit

We had the steak and enchiladas , bleu cheese chicken salad, hamburger steak w mushrooms...all delicious. Also had Mexicali chicken, but was too spicy hot to eat. Warning(: Wine choices limited, but has full bar. Overall experience very good.

La Ventana is the best place to eat in Grants, if you are on business or want to have a well-prepared meal. The filet is always cooked precisely as requested, service is great, and the drinks are not weak! Even though Grants a small town, this restaurant compares favorably with many "big city" chains.
