The place was described to me by a local as a greasy spoon and I could eat for less than $20 before I went. That's exactly what it was. The atmosphere was what I expected and the place was packed. My wife and I ordered burgers. They were just ok. If you get fries stay away from the chili fries.... More

Loved the diner style, and the limited menu -- just get the Texas style hot dog, that's what they're known for. Friendly service, low prices.

This is a real local's place. Inexpensive and great food. I go here all the time. Best old fashioned cheeseburgers in Gettysburg.

Very old school nothing fancy but hardy & satisfying! We sat at a large family table with another couple. Food was tasty, hot & fast. Onion rings are a must hand battered and whole cuts of onions. Order the large because all will want at least one...so share nicely. We all ordered hot dogs. The chili was perfect on top... More

Get over it folks, its a diner. The food is diner food, not gourmet but it's quick, it's good, its well served. The staff is friendly. The onion rings and fries just greassy enough, the sandwiches appropriately hot (egg sandwich) and the chili beany with some meat, hearty but not spicy. The coffee was good and plentiful. Did I mention... More

My husband and I have been visiting Gettysburg twice a year for the past 20 years, and had never stopped into Ernie's, even though we had walked by it numerous times. We were in G'burg a few weeks ago and finally stopped in!!! The food was excellent and the service was great, too!! The hot dogs are fantastic!! We'll definitely... More

I read the review on this joint and had to make a stop. I parked illegally, ran in, grab one with onions and chili. Devoured it in 30 seconds. One of the best dogs I have ever eaten. Don't pass up this one.

Having grown up in Gettysburg I have eaten at Charlie's now Ernie's Texas Lunch numerous times. We were in Gettysburg for the 150 Anniversary of The Battle of Gettysburg and were not disappointed. Love their hot dogs with everything, fries with gravy and an ice cold coke.

I honestly do not understand all the bad reviews. I think you folks are nuts. This is a great place to eat. I LOVE their Taco Dawgs! I think they would be perfect with a little bit of sour cream... But still amazing. Do yourself a favor and try this place. But do NOT under estimate the size of their... More
