Nice restaurant

Maybe it was a mistake not to have the signature dish. It was good - might go back again - The special vegetables of the day were very good Service was not perfect - had to ask for more water & then wait a bit

The Tavern sits under a corrugated roof for protection from rain but it very open to a great garden Very cozy. There are some period food items on the menu you should try.

My wife and I had dinner at the Farnsworth House for her birthday. She loves historic places and we had wandered by the Farnsworth House in previous visits to Gettysburg. We had a pleasant meal (crab cakes, salmon) which was good, but not especially memorable. We wished the young wait staff had a little more training, as they were not... More

I had the sirloin steak which was cooked perfectly the way I ordered it. My husband loved the game pie. We both had the pumpkin fritters that taste just like pumpkin donuts. The pickled watermelon rinds were different, but good. Kind of taste like sweet pickles. The spoon bread was also excellent (especially with apple butter)! If you are watching... More

After seeing so many positive reviews we went to Farnsworth House. Ate in the outside dining area which was lovely but the food was the opposite. Rotten, not wilted salad was served and sent back. My salmon dinner was overcooked to the point it was dry. A tasteless white sauce served overtop. And the price $21.95. The worst meal of... More

Pleasant atmosphere and good food. Servers are dressed in period costumes and the menu has some period dishes.

My wife and I enjoyed an evening meal of authentic time period dishes, furniture and history. Waitresses in costume and dishes prepared to delight. A great experience.

Every year, my family visits the Farnsworth Inn for a meal. For my 30th birthday this year, I decided I would like to hold it at Farnsworth Inn. My husband booked the main dining room over 1 month prior to our date, May 2, 2015. We booked the room for 32 people, all coming from Baltimore, MD. The night of... More

Stopped by the Farnsworth House Tavern on a Friday Afternoon recently and had a very good time. There were three of us and each of us enjoyed our meals. My two companions were Gettysburg first timers and wanted to grab a quick bite at a local place so I took them here because of some previous good experiences. My Aunt... More

I first visited the Farnsworth House 37 years ago. I tried the colonial game pie then, and was most impressed. Homemade meat pies were a frequent staple at our dinner table when I was growing up. None ever exceeded what I had at the Farnsworth House. So when I was examining the menu on their website, I saw that the... More
