This restaurant is also a must to add to your to do list. the history of the building, their period fare foods and drinks, the atmosphere. the tours and other things they offer is all worth a stop. Not a large menu and a bit pricey but worth it! Always a reservation made for us when we visit.

Just came back from a wonderful three days from Gettysburg. On our last day we went for lunch at the Farnsworth house. Here are the negatives and the positives in regards to our experience. Negatives Food was HORRIBLE!!!!! Service was terrible!!! Waited 45 min. for a simple lunch that was horrendous! We ordered six meals.....every meal was worse than the... More

FOR SURE - order the Pork Shank or the Game Pie. The menu description does not do these menu options justice. The pork meat literally falls off the bone and there was a great deal of meat in the game pie. In truth, I could not tell which pieces were the turkey, duck and pheasant, but it did not matter...it... More

Intimate lighting, fair pricing and a sensational menu, unchanged in the 30 years I have been dining there, Farnsworth House is a terrific way to rest your weary legs after a full day of touring the battlefield. They gratuitously added a ghost tour there and that keeps the place hopping at the end of dinner service, as they suddenly discovered... More

We tend to gravitate towards the Farnsworth House Tavern every time we are in Gettysburg, The food is excellent and service is great. My husband ordered the mashed potatoes and meatloaf dinner and while I was enjoying my baked potato soup and salad I noted he had already finished his meal! I did get a small taste of the meat... My husband and I sat outside in the Beer Garden on Friday and went back to sit inside at the Tavern bar on Saturday night. The same bartender waited on us during both of our visits there and was friendly and gave us some good recommendations on things to do and places to see in the area. I ordered a... More

This restaurant is a great place to eat after spending a long day exploring Gettysburg. They serve some pretty unique historical dishes which we really appreciated. When you go to a place like Gettysburg, its nice not to have the the history end at dinnertime. Make sure to enjoy the side dishes that come with the meal, like spoon bread... More

We live locally ....visited Farnsworth House several times this summer ....always sat on patio outside. All was fine ...until our last visit. It was not crowded on a Sunday afternoon ...so service should have been prompt.......we waited an hour for 'a special of the day ...chicken fajita flatbread ' . Our server said another server took our order by mistake... More

Such a beautiful historic place rich with stories. The food and service were EXCELLENT and I discovered my new favorite food - "spoon bread"! Don't ask, just eat it. Yummy! I had the prime rib while husband had the game pie and it was a wonderful meal! A must in Gettysburg.

I had the pulled pork "sandwich". What I got was basically a flatbread pizza with BBQ sauce instead of tomato. Fine, I can tolerate it. The servers were pleasant, the atmosphere is cool, they have a wall of props and uniforms from the movie Gettysburg, which is neat if you, like many, grew aware of the town through the movie....
