Excellent house; average food

The tavern has several props from the movie Gettysburg, a fairly large menu and numerous beer and mixed drink options.

The food is average, but you are in Gettysburg and the Tavern and it has more props from the Gettysburg movie than anywhere else plus a ton of other really neat stuff all tastefully displayed. Apparently it was a regular hangout for some of the Gettysburg actors and crew during filming. It is also located in one of a handful... More

The atmosphere is amazing, the waiter was phenomenal, the food was typical diner food (ie frozen, bland, etc.). Maybe some of their other dishes are homemade but ours certainly was not.

This tavern has seen many a tired traveler. They serve food and a wide array of beers, spirits, and mixed drinks. The actors from the movie "Gettysburg" frequented this tavern and there is a small display with the items inside the tavern. Great food, and atmosphere!! Be sure to visit the book shop. Lots of cool stuff in there!!

My fiancé and I made dinner reservations for a Monday night. The atmosphere was nice, definitely historic, so yes, it's a little outdated, but honestly, it wouldn't be the same experience otherwise. Service was decent. Our server was nice and the food came out quickly. Food was delicious. For the two of us, with drinks, soup and entrees, our bill... More

Me and my friend came here on a Sunday night to get some dinner around 730 pm and walked in excited for the food. We walked in the door on the side and stood there for about 5 minutes when it was slow (only a few tables ) and no one greeted us or said anything about if we seat... More

My wife and I went on a ghost tour a few years ago. Ever since she wanted to spend the night, so we finally did. At the ghost tour something's happens but all reasonable explainable. When we spend the night nothing happens, an uneventful unscary night. The breakfast was good. Another couple had a picture of a mirror in the... More

We have enjoyed the period atmosphere and the food at Farnworth House in past years, but the last two times we ate there, including today, we found the food quality had slipped tremendously. Their signature Game Pie has become a thin, watery disaster with very little meat or other fillings. My wife's salmon was greatly overcooked. The civil war era... More

We ordered an ole time typical food dish. Definitely pleasing to the palate and purse! Beer on the side. Warmed by a gas Fireplace nearby and entertained with conversation from others!
