Love to eat outside in the summer and this little spot is charming nestled under trees and beside a little bubbling brook. The prices are a tad high, but the food and very attentive service is worth it. Nice selection of lunch and dinner foods. After first night of dining, we decided to share a meal the second night because... More

When I saw the words, "Family Friendly" on the Tavern sign I thought this would be a great, convenient place to have dinner before our ghost tour at the Farnsworth House. Let me first say that our waitress was wonderful and the adult meals were good and reasonably priced...I asked if there was a children's menu and was told they... More

I had the open face roast beef sandwich....now I usually have that when I go places it is offered and it is usually piled high with meat and gravy. This was thinly sliced roast that was tough. I had the sweet bread with apple butter and it was good. I love the atmosphere of the place but would not eat... More

Friendly staff and seating outside to take in the sights. Recommend the game pies and seeing all the civil war memorbilia from the movie

We love the Tavern atmosphere, but I had the meatloaf and it was very dry and way to much gravy. The waitress disappeared after delivering the food until we got the bill. The price was fair but I would not go back to eat there.

we always eat at the Farnsworth when we visit Gettysburg. their pumpkin fritters and spoon bread are sooo good! never disappointed here! This time we ate inside and sat next to the "haunted door" which is really just a door that vibrates b/c of a draft. our waitress explained that to us b/c she said sometimes people get freaked out.... The young kids working outside near the patio almost panicked when we said we were a party of 5. They said the patio was full and we said that was ok, so they relaxed. Inside, however, was not much better. We waited for someone to pay attention to us and finally a woman who looked overwhelmed told us a table... More

This business has all the potential in the world but it always seems to fall short. The outside seating and beer garden are a truly lovely setting and as we are local we come down often to enjoy the sounds and sights of the town but it is becoming more and more difficult to enjoy yourself here due to the... After a drive through the Gettysburg Park, the family was ready to eat. Upon recommendations by the visitors bureau we stopped at the tavern of the Farnsworth House. Our timing was not during typical hours so our service was really attentive to our needs. The food was just ok and nothing more than that. They had a few paraphernalia from... More

After our carriage ride through Gettysburg we went here to eat dinner. It was the best prime rib that I have ever eaten. You could cut it with a fork. Staff was very friendly and even told us a few stories. Would definitely go back again.
