Just stumbled on this place by chance.

Nice place, small but not to cramped. Lots of memorabilia, and moderately priced. Would suggest going here as a good place to rest on a busy day of site-seeing.

Thank you for your visiting Sweney's Tavern. If you visit Gettysburg again and looking for a more casual fine dining experience try our main dining room which is open daily in season from 5pm to 9pm. More

After seeing this location on Ghost Hunters, we just had to go. It was small and the menu could use an update, but it was still ok. Definitely worth the visit!

Our neighbors brought us here for dinner in Oct 2015, and the meal was just wonderful. I had the crab cakes and asparagus, which were both great. My husband had the meat pie and loved every bite. Our server was very attentive and we really had a great time.

In warm weather, we recommend eating outside by the waterfall. Very relaxing. Squirrels are fun to watch also. Excellent food!

Although we did not have reservations, we stopped by looking for a nice dinner. At first we were told we would have to wait even though we could see several unoccupied tables. We were seated within five minutes. The food was delicious and plentiful. We even had leftovers! I enjoyed the peanut soup and the cracker pudding. The bread was... More

Thank you for dining with us and submitting your review. We have been serving our peanut soup since we opened 43 years ago. Mrs. Shultz loves to decorate for the holiday and a real tree is a must. Thanks again for visiting us. More

The atmosphere is quite lovely..decorated for the holidays. Our server was friendly and attentive. I tried the game pie only because it was recommended by the server. My partner had the $23 pork chop. This got him one normal sized pork chop in the middle of a plate. It was hard to not laugh aloud when they served him his... More

We actually ate in the formal dining room not the Tavern. We made 5pm reservations. The door was locked until 5pm when we heard a 'click'. We (and 23 others) opened the door. No one was there to welcome us in. Some of us called out to no reply. 10 minutes later a young lady arrived and asked if we... More

I am very sorry to hear about your experience. The door should have been open as well as someone there to great all of you and welcome you into the Historic Farnsworth House. We have been open for 42 years and have been serving our game pie and watermelon rind since we opened our doors. It's a Farnsworth House tradition... More

We love this place and have had 2 of our 27 wedding anniversary dinners here. I love the corn relish that comes complementary with the meal along with their spoon bread.

We stopped here after participating in the Remembrance Day parade so I was in uniform, etc. But so were others. We all had sandwiches that were well prepared with good ingredients. The salads were very good. And our service was very good as well.

We visited for lunch with another couple on November 20th. This is a great historic location with fantastic potential. Unfortunately, the food is a complete swing and miss. Everybody had sandwiches and sides. The two of us that had the cole slaw actually were feeling ill the remainder of the day forcing us to actually seek Pepto Bismol afterwards. Beyond... More
