Nothing authentic about this place. The staff was friendly but the food was well below average. The pasta was undercooked, the fish was "fishy," and the sauce not good at all. This was an unfortunate dining experience.

Our first night in Gettysburg was a Sunday. We were walking around downtown, checking out all the offerings and happened upon Mamma Ventura. Walking into the restaurant it had that authentic feel of a true Italian restaurant. We sat in the back room aside of the large fish tank. The pasta tasted homemade, the veal was tender and tasty and... More

THE best italian food you'll have! Very nice restaurant with reasonable prices. Right off of the town square.

We have dined at Mamma Ventura's for years and have loved it every time. The Italian food is really authentic but how could it not be with Jackie *from Italy" overseeing the cooking. We knew her late husband Carmelo and she has carried on his great food tradition.

Arrived into the Burg 5pm on a Sunday and it was closed. So we went there the next Friday, early, at 4pm and it was good. Bottle of Chianti and Eggplant Parm was very adequate and filling. Service was good and she has been there 10 years and knows her stuff. The pizzas at the next table smelled divine. A... More

This is a nice little Italian place in Gettysburg. I ordered a pizza and it was VERY good. My friend got stromboli and felt the same. The only issue I had was that service was pretty slow.

Very good meal in downtown for a reasonable price. 5 of us went to dinner 2 adults and 3 college kids 3 apps 5 entrees cocktails for $128.00 before tip. Everyone's food was very good. Several of us had leftovers which the kids were able to take back to dorm. Jenn was our waitress and kept us stocked in bread... More

This was the only place that didn't have a 45+ minute wait so we gave it a try. Service was good, selections were plenty and overall the meal was good. Decor inside was nice, except the neon in the window which just didn't seem to fit.

My daughter and I ate here on Parents Weekend. It was the the only restaurant within walking distance that did not have a long wait. Neither of us enjoyed our dinner. The salad dressing had a odd flavor, the dinner rolls weren't very good, and the eggplant was chewy. Service was fine, but the food was disappointing.
