I try to give every restaurant the benefit of the doubt, but if I could give this one a half star, I would. I went with a party of five. Out of the five dishes ordered, no one could eat their meal. Venture's sauce is terrible. It was as though they opened up a can of tomato paste. It was... More

We dine in Gettysburg often since we live so close by and love to walk around town. This particular Thursday evening, we decided to give Mama's a try because of its lower price menu in comparison to other options on the same block, being a pizza place. When we walked into a relatively empty front room (they could have had... More

Went here on a Saturday night with my husband and 3 kids after a long couple of days. Pasta was good, and my husband loved his veal. Also got a cheese pizza for the kids which was good. The waitress was very good and patient as there was definitely a mix of families and people who rolled their eyes as... More

Good atmosphere, service. We had house salad and a pizza. Pizza was cooked perfect and had the Italian touch

Many of the top "restaurants" here are actually ice cream parlors, bakeries, and such - so it was great to find Mamma Ventura's. After a day of sightseeing, we wanted a place to relax with a good meal. The food was quite good, the service fast and friendly, and the restaurant clean and comfortable. If you're looking for fine dining,... More

I don't have any complaints about the food seeing as I've never sampled anything off the menu. however, I will say that last night I had some of the worst bar tending service. I mean, this guy was completely ignorant. I get it, it's a bar, it's not gonna be the happiest place; but after giving the bar tendor a... More

Nothing authentic about this place. The staff was friendly but the food was well below average. The pasta was undercooked, the fish was "fishy," and the sauce not good at all. This was an unfortunate dining experience.

Our first night in Gettysburg was a Sunday. We were walking around downtown, checking out all the offerings and happened upon Mamma Ventura. Walking into the restaurant it had that authentic feel of a true Italian restaurant. We sat in the back room aside of the large fish tank. The pasta tasted homemade, the veal was tender and tasty and... More

THE best italian food you'll have! Very nice restaurant with reasonable prices. Right off of the town square.

We have dined at Mamma Ventura's for years and have loved it every time. The Italian food is really authentic but how could it not be with Jackie *from Italy" overseeing the cooking. We knew her late husband Carmelo and she has carried on his great food tradition.
