The review for this one is simple - good food at good prices - reminds me of dinners of old. Family atmosphere and seems to attract locals which is a good sign.

The Avenue has been there for what seems like forever. It has changed hands over the years but continues to offer many great selections at reasonable prices. They offer B, L, and D. Everything from egg salad to steak and ribs. Great milkshakes and desserts. It's a homey place that's worth going back to.

We always make it a point to stop here when in Gettysburg. It's typical diner food and atmosphere. They have family pictures and civil war pictures everywhere which I always enjoy looking at. The place is always clean, but it's an older establishment so it's worn and I like the looks of it. The service was a bit slow this... More

I haven't been able to get a decent order of Chipped Beef Gravy unless I make my own. Their Chipped Beef Gravy was perfect over the home fries. The staff was very attentive, prices were right on the mark and did I meantion the staff was great? This is a must visit again for us when in Gettysburg!

Interesting combinations of toppings for burgers - pepperoni, jalapeños, fried onions. Delish!! Good and quick service, too!

If you want good, classic diner food, go out Rt. 30 East to "THE GETTYSBURG DINER" in the shopping center on the right, before you get to US Rt. 15! The Avenue looked like a classic diner so we expected the food to be similar. When we opened the menu and saw the outrageous prices for simple diner food, we... More

We had lunch here and the food was what one would expect from a hometown diner, nothing fancy or too high strung- just hearty portions of homemade food. I had the shrimp basket with the sweet potato fries and coleslaw, it was all very good, even though the slaw coulda used more vinegar and seasoning for my taste. My dad... More

This restaurant was a big disappointment to us. We have visited it over the years (15+) and always enjoyed it because it was a down home restaurant with great prices and good food. This time around the food was poor with a hot turkey sandwich being lunch meat grilled on the sandwich and costing over $10. The service though was... More

We ate here a while back for lunch and found the food to be mediocre. Neal had a burger and I had the tuna sandwich which was a little too "fishy" for my taste which tells me it wasn't fresh. The second time we ate here we tried the breakfast. While it wasn't good by any means, it wasn't awful... More

I literally left the diner 15 minutes ago and already feel sick, which is surprising since I hardly ate. I ordered the hot turkey. The mashed potatoes were extra creamy (fake) and the turkey was pressed lunch meat put in a grill pan. The gravy reminded me of elementary school lunch. My husband had liver and onions and found most... More
