Definitely not as it used to be.....

When we used to live in Gettysburg, we ate at the Avenue alot, mostly for breakfast. The home fries were the best part. Having been in town for a doctors appt, we stopped back in for breakfast and we're sadly disappointed. Their menu notes that their breakfast combos are a full meal. For 9.99... read more

Wanted a quick bite before we headed home from our vacation in Gettysburg, so we decided to stop at the Avenue Restaurant. Disappointed in all aspects! We stood around to "wait to be seated" for a bit while one of the staff cleaned the bathroom (please - do that after hours, since the bathroom is in full view of the... More

Developed an appetite after walking around. Seen this while passing by and stopped in. Super cute, lots of war decorations to look at. Served drinks right away and kept full which is a HUGE plus for me. Ordered, food was as we had ordered, waitress was super sweet and chatted with us with interest. Family of 4 - me and... More

Four of us were on vacation together in Gettysburg, and we were looking for a place to have breakfast. My husband noticed some police officers eating in this diner, and said they always know the good places to eat! We all really liked the classic diner atmosphere. My husband was thrilled beyond belief when he saw chipped beef gravy over... More

The diner atmosphere is supposed to be charming this place is closer to cluttered. Too many knickknacks and in need of a dusting. The food is okay, typical diner food, the burger wasn't exceptional and towards the end it was crusty. The bathroom was not nice and the service was okay. Just not that great of an experience for the... More

This place was always a go to if I or my family stopped by, but not anymore. The soup was too chunky, and there were still shells in it. Our waitress decided that it would be a good time to clean the bathroom and sweep the floor, and there were flies everywhere. If this place doesn't clean up I won't... More

And it's not even close. It's a great restaurant, not fancy more of a diner. The breakfasts are very good, eat your eggs, pancakes, sausage, toast, and you are fortified for the battlefield.

We could have walked out and not paid, but instead my husband kept asking staff if they could get waitress to bring us the bill...finally recd it and sticker shock from two yrs ago.... More
