Stopped by for a sandwich and I had to ask for a pickle. Everything on the menu came with french fries. I asked if I could have the sandwich and no fries. The answer was that it came with fries and I'd have to pay for them anyway. Didn't make sense to me but I was hungry and decided to... More

Now I'm a meat and potatoes kind of gal and was super excited to see a Baked Potato Supreme. Unfortunately I was met with baked potato vomit. I not only looked disgusting, but the taste was horrid. Not going back there!

I enjoyed the easy-going, down home atmosphere of The Avenue. We ordered the chili, grilled cheese, the supreme potato, egg salad and fries for $32. Everyone enjoyed their entrée and my only compliant was the white bread on my egg salad was very try and tough on the ends. I'm sure if I had complained, the issue would have been... More

My group of five had Sunday breakfast here this morning. The did was really good. The staff was very nice but rather slow. I'm glad we were seated by 9:00 because the place was packed to the rafters with a line out the door by 9:30. Good food, good prices...it's worth it.

The Avenue Restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel, and we ate at least 3 meals there - there were menu items that we definitely wanted to try - and really enjoyed them! Good sized portions for the really good price.

Ate here with my family because it was close the were we gad to go for a ghost tour. Food & service was pretty good. A little more expensive than what a diner should be. $8.99 for 6 fried pickle spears!? Most burgers were $11-12. Breakfast might be better for this place.

We were starving after touring the battlefield and chose this restaurant from the many along this street. The atmosphere was nice, business was brisk and the food was quite good served nice and hot. The cream of crab soup was excellent, and almost a meal by itself.

We visit Gettysburg 3-4 times a year and usually eat here once. On our last trip we found the portions had not changed but the prices increased substantially. Due to the portion size we usually buy a entree and split it which helps with the prices. I'll also add we only eat breakfast here.

Was very surprised that this little diner had a very extensive menu and great food. No greasy spoon here. Loved the references from the family and workers on their favorite dishes. Was inexpensive on my tight budget. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed, needed no fancy clothes and enjoyed a very good meal with the locals.
