My husband and are were very excited about trying the newest Mexican restaurant in Gettysburg. We are locals and eat often in Gettysburg. We ordered the Con Queso with nachos as an appetizer. I wanted a beef and cheese burrito, not seeing it on the menu I asked the waitress if I could order one. She promptly advised me "they... More

Atmosphere is very nice, we sat at a table outside, as the weather was beautiful. My husband ordered the beef fajitas, and they were brought to our table VERY hot, spitting all over everything. We ordered the kids chicken tenders meal for our 2-year-old, and the chicken was very dry. Rice and beans were bland. I ordered the crab enchiladas,... More

Based on previous reviews I was looking forward to a nice meal. The menu was very, very small which was in line with the portion of the one salad ordered. My meal was bland with bland white rice. I wish we had the menu and the experience that other reviewers had.

After reading other reviews on here, I had expected more. The food was very average, it tasted rather bland. Service was ok, and you could sit outside too. It wasn't too expensive, either. It was a very average Mexican restaurant, I can't really recommend it

We happened to notice this restaurant on the way to another one, the wait at the brew pub was too long and we decided to go back. It is BYOB, which we found out after we were seated. This was one of the best mexician meals I have ever had! Service was great! Outside dining was awesome and the value... More

Dined at El Costeno once in June and again in July. The food was excellent, and the prices for a tourist town were very reasonable. Only live about 20 minutes from Gettysburg, so El Costeno will be a regular stop over.

We are still raving about our experience at El Costeno. Can't rate the inside because we opted to eat outdoors on the porch, where we enjoyed people watching and admired the work they're doing in the garden area. Our server was pleasant & attentive, and food appeared in a flash. Not only was the presentation beautiful, my enchiladas were the... More

A friend and I had dinner at El Costeno on a Saturday evening. The new location (39 E. York) has its advantages, and the food is even tastier than I'd remembered. However, diners must ascend about six steps to reach the entrance, so take note if this affects accessability. The dining rooms are small and felt a bit claustrophobic on... More

I love El Costeno's food and atmosphere. The owners and wait staff are friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. They care about their customers. The food is wonderful. It has a flavor and uniqueness that just cannot be captured by the other Mexican places in town that simply serve fast-food type Mexican food.
