Firstly, the staff is great. Thank you Linda and Rebecca. Heavy linens and flat ware and interesting wall decor. Lovely menu using fresh locally sourced ingredients. Everything prepared perfectly. Portions just right....I get full if I am served too much food and if one is traveling a doggy bag is useless. Come here to unwind after strenuous sight seeing. And... More

My wife and I frequently visit this outstanding restaurant regularly for two reasons: 1.) the quality of the food; and, 2.) the friendly and helpful staff. We have never had a bad or disappointing meal. The food is superior and very tasty. Of equal value is the friendly attitude of the staff. They make our meals so enjoyable and many... More

Not only did my group have delicious, well-prepared food, but what made the occasion super fun was our server, Stephen. His patience, professionalism, and charm were above and beyond board. Do ask for Stephen when you visit, I know we will.

My husband and I went there for dinner this evening - there were 2 other tables being served, so it was not busy. My husband was served iced tea without a spoon or sugar - not a good start. I ordered a Cobb salad sandwich which was presented on flatbread. Whatever spread was used was so strong with onion, it... More

I have eaten at "1863" before, and the food has always been excellent! It is obvious that the chefs take their time as the presentation is always amazing! I must admit that this is a situation in which you might not choose this restaurant if you are in a hurry....it seems the food is "prepared to order" and this makes... More

The name (1863) may sound old but this is a clean and upscale looking restaurant that would fit in at any big city in the USA. They have a very good menu, but I was a little disappointed to find out that the prime rib was only 10 ounces. I asked our waitress Rebecca, if the chef would make an... More

We enjoyed the food and the service was also fast and friendly. Unfortunately the choices for gluten-intolerant diners was very limited. In contrast to the UK, where many places now provide gluten-free alternatives, this concept does not have permeated to the US of A. My wife tends to have to eat grilled foods with chips or mashed potatoes, as sauce etc... More

The breakfast buffet was delicious, the staff very kind and kid friendly! I will definitely keep this as my go-to place when I stay at either the Marriott or Wyndham again.

On a trip to Gettysburg for a historical vacation, we stayed at the Wyndham for a few days. In the post transit bliss we had little desire to drive to dinner, and so we chose the 1863 for our repast. The dining atmosphere was elegant, the food was exquisite (I had the rabbit in a moment of boldness, and I... More
