food outweighs the looonnnng wait

we were here for breakfast and the restaurant wasn't packed...however, the service was spotty and the wait was long...fortunately, the crepes and croissant outweighed both of the negatives!...i agree w/the previous poster, the menus are on their last breath...

We had a Sunday brunch reservation, it was honored promptly and I believe that Café Saint-Amand is one of the best places to eat in Gettysburg. If you go expecting Americanized French café food in a tourist destination your expectations will sync with he reality we experienced. First the good – amazing servers and everyone worked hard to deliver food,... More

We were looking for something different and came upon this charming French bistro. I had the grilled Mahi-Mahi special over risoto and spinach. Nice. Marilyn had the French dip, which she liked.

I hadn't been to Cafe St. Amand in several months so it was time to update my reviews. We started with a bowl of the days soup which was a Chicken Artichoke Chowder. It had a good flavor. It had lots of artichokes in it. As an appetizer we had the Brie with a Mushroom topping. This was a small... More

Everything we had was wonderful, but let's talk about what's most important. Dessert. Get the flourless chocolate cake. Trust me. You won't regret it.

When I was home visiting Gettysburg last year for my high school reunion, I started thinking about moving back to the area, but I was reluctant because of all the things I would miss in Los Angeles -- especially the food. Once I discovered the Thai restaurant and Cafe Saint-Amand, however, I started seriously reconsidering. I visited this place with... More

Although the service was questionable, every time I return I'm always impressed by the food. The menu doesn't offer much for picky eaters, but when you find something that sounds good, order it - I promise it'll be good.

We have ate a few times in gettysburg and it seems a lot of the food is high carb type of comfort food. I don't care for food like that in the summer time. Ugh to heavy. But Cafe Saint Amand was just the right ticket. We had tried to walk here a couple of weeks ago from our hotel... More

Charming. Delicious. Lovely staff. It was such a nice departure from the usual breakfast place. We had a light breakfast - lattes and the most scrumptious coffee cake!! And did I say lovely staff? Open at 7:30AM and everyone happy to see you. We're returning to Gettysburg in the fall and will definitely go back for breakfast again -- and... More

Found this restaurant the first day.Breakfast was good, usual fare cooked and presented nicely.but dinner was exellent. BEEF BOURGUIGNON, TROUT AMANDINE , RATATOUILLE, TAHITI VANILLE CRÊME BRÛLÉE all were to die for. All plated beautifully. It is a BYOB restaurant, so we went next store and bought a couple of bottles of wine. The staff was very efficient and friendly,... More
