Ive been to the boathouse 5 times, when visiting kids who live in the area. Great facility, very big, actually way too big for a good restaurant, more like an amphitheatre. Seems clean and well maintained Beautiful setting on the small lake next to the zoo and a park,,, this is the real attraction. Five meals, 1ok,3 not so good,... More

The view was great, our server did a great job and did not rush us, even though it was busy. One of my guests is a catering mgr, he immediately noticed the bad tomatoes, the soggy salad and the cold hamburgers. The food was terrible

Brought out of town clients for dinner was given a seat in main dinning room behind a window where our view was the back of a band the food was ok at best when we mentioned that only 2 of the 3 entrees were medium rare, the way we ordered it reply was "2 out of 3 ain't bad" this... More

I'll cut right to chase - don't waste your time. The food was horrible. This is my third trip to this restaurant and when they first opened up, we had a delicious lunch, price was a bit high but well worth it. Last night, all three meals were solid D+ rating. My wife ordered a veggie pasta dish - all... More

We enjoyed McLoone's after a day at the zoo down the block. The service was very slow but the food was good. The view is very nice but we were too warm to sit outside and opted to sit in the dining room

This is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever visited! I recommend it for a date day or night in all seasons. It should easily give the Manor and the Highlawn competition. There is plenty of free parking. It is immaculate. The views are to die for. It is romantic warm and a bucket list add on. The... More

McLoone's in West Orange is a nice space, with outdoor seating overlooking a new man made lake near Turtle Back Zoo and S. Mountain Arena in Essex County, NJ. That said, both the food and the service could be better. Neither is terrible, rather, both are inconsistent. Given the prices, this should not be the case. The ambiance coupled with... More

We visited the restaurant for the first time this summer. While the food was not exceptional, it was very fresh, the drinks were of good quality, the service friendly, and the setting (on the outside terrace) extremely pleasant. We would strongly recommend this for a casual meal.

I guess the restaurant manager does not read the reviews, if he/she did they would do something about the food and the service- it is generally mediocre. The salmon and onion soup are quite good but we do not recommend the steak, it arrived charred and dry. I was there once for lunch and the crab cakes tasted like they... More

My wife and I were hesitant to have an early dinner at McLoone's due to some of the previous reviews that we read. Belay those reviews!! We had a wonderful experience today at the restaurant. We were greeted and seated immediately near the outside part of the facility water view. Dennis, our waiter, went out of his way to get... More
