Essex County has really utilized this space well, adding a gorgeous restaurant - McLoone's Boathouse and a miniature golf to add to the county's zoo and skating rink located next door. I'd heard mixed reviews on this restaurant and we had a chance to eat here with friends. The views are spectacular and the restaurant is truly a gorgeous structure.... More

Enjoyed a beautiful happy hour by the water. A pretty setting, but also a most enjoyable time as the food was well prepared. We took advantage of the happy hour specials -- wine, drinks and appy specials. The ribs were delicious and the edamame were made with salt and lime! Fabulous !!!

Large space, great location on the edge of a reservoir where new family-friendly facilities are being installed. Fairly standard steak; chicken; fish menu with seasonal lobster menu for the "special" Food was good but not exceptional. Service was average with moderately lengthy waits. Crayons for the kids. Reasonable wine list. Noisy because there were many kids below age ten.

Great view for dining but the food was average. The Sunday Brunch is better but a little over priced. Still it was a nice change from the everyday and that makes it worth.

We come often, but the last time we came, there was plastic in my appetizer, hair in my dinner and we waited over an hour for our food, at the bar! Our drinks took FOREVER. They comped our meal. It's scenic and the outside seating is awesome, but the service outside is HORRIBLE! !!!!. Too bad, it would make a... More

Kinda like a mirage. Looks like something good from a distance. But, is a total disappointment. Food is horrible, service is poor, beer selection is weak and they no longer offer free mints when leaving. So stay away! Better off at McDonald's. Almost forgot, way over priced.

I was visiting a friend who suggested McLoone's Boathouse for dinner. We were seated inside at a window table just outside the main dining room. Because of the location the noise level was acceptable. Good food and attentive service.

I was very impressed with the restaurant's large, upscale interior. However, with the high ceilings, the busy dining room was very loud with echoing voices. The three of us had lunch outside on the terrace overlooking the lake. The landscaping and water created a relaxing scenic atmosphere. We even walked around the lake after lunch. Our sandwiches were all very... More

I attended here as part of a work dinner. The views are just fantastic and the outside terrace is well worth sitting on. We ate in the dining room in a cordoned off bit and this was good. It was a set buffet and this was fine. Serving staff were efficient and friendly. Highly recommended and I would return

I recently visit this location for a last minute met and greet. We made no reservation. It was a Monday night around 630 and we were able to get a table outside where the view of the lake was just amazing. The menu is very limited and a little costly. I was a short meet and greet so we had... More
