unassuming place, but good food and excellent value for money

On my first night in Philly I was looking for a place closed to my hotel where I could eat before crashing in bed after a transatlantic trip. Even though I enjoyed the noodles, I didn't care for their soup broth. However, I will be sure to try one of their hot dishes next time instead. For more pictures and commentary, check out www.gustatori.com.

I have to admit, the food was delicious. I was also hungry and anything might have taste delicious but I might have got the best noodle soup in Philadelphia. However the staff attitude was poor. I told the waitress from the beginning that I am allergic to cilantro and they should not put that in my soup. She came with... More

Stopped by for a late dinner just before closing and was happy that the staff was very accommodating. We were the last of about six customers remaining and our food was served surprisingly quick. We also had the steamed curry dumplings that were flavorful and done right. Nan Zhou is definitely a noodle house worth visiting while in Philadelphia.

If you've never tried hand drawn noodle, this is the place to visit. It has fresh hand drawn noodles, in a piping hot soup bowl with toppings of your choosing. I personally prefer the seafood option, but have heard good things on all of them. If you're not a soup person, they also offer dishes where the noodles are stir... More

I wanted to try this restaurant after reading about it in a Best Around the USA/Best in PA article. We tried a variety of dishes on the menu including the light & delicious scallion pancakes & the absolute best sesame noodles that we have ever tasted. (We had no idea that scallion pancakes could be anything but heavy & gut-busting!... More

If you are looking for a hearty and tasty meal Nan Zhou will fit the bill. Our party of 6 was more than satisfied with the choices and the quality of the food. 3 of us had various soups with hand drawn as opposed to shaved noodles. The broth was good and the noodles were great. A wide variety of... More

Went on a Saturday for lunch. No surprise, but it was loud, crowded, and hectic. We had to share our table with other diners. The servers were polite, but rushed due to the crowd. Service was fast, and the food was delicious. My wife and I each got a noodle soup and appetizers, and the meal was less then $25.... More

This is a noodle restaurant and, of course, I sampled a few lovely noodles dishes here but the star attraction for me was the Spicy Pig Ears. Yes, it sounds nasty but it tasted sublime. They slice those suckers super thin and then cook it in a really spicy, red oil sauce. The crunchiness of the sliced ears with the... More

If you like hand-drawn noodles this is the place for you. Don't be put off by the line going out the door. The service is fast & the noodles are excellent. You can watch the noodles being drawn & prepared.
