First Time Try @ Nan Zhou

In Philadelphia for business, week of 08/24/2015. Staying at Marriott Philadelphia Downtown near Chinatown. Some searching advised Nan Zhou was a pretty good Chinatown restaurant so gave it a try. Impressed! I had the hand-drawn noodles with chicken. It was very good, one of the best dishes I've... read more

Left a show at the Troc a couple blocks away from this Chinatown joint. We actually had parked right in front of it before the show. For the uninformed, which I was... You pay the machined meter on the sidewalk according to the number of the spot you are parked in, then put the ticket visibly on the dash. Oops.... More

Finding cheap or free parking is a pain in the city. Ended up finding parking relatively cheap a block away from this restaurant. Found this cheap Chinese place in Chinatown Philla. Walked in but be careful. First step is a dip. Not a raised floor. I didn't trip. Staff was prompt to seat me and get my order going. I... More

Nan Zhou is the origination point of the Silk Road and these noodles were the special dish of the nomadic people for 160 years now. You can now enjoy the beef noodles which were served to the people of high status during the Ching Dynasty. Any aficionado of Chinese noodles will greatly appreciate what this noodle house serves. Appetizers- cold... More

had the fried chicken curry dumplings and the ox tail soup with hand drawn noodles. The dumplings were good, but really could use more curry punch. The filling seemed tired. The soup, on the other hand, was fantastic. The broth, the noodles, the vegetables, and the bits of gelatinous ox tail were great! Nan Zhou is great for a fast,... More

We like to stop in especially on cold days for a nice big bowl of noodle soup or stir fried noodles. Tasty. Warms the soul. Not expensive either. I usually go with a group of 4 and it costs $30 something. The atmosphere is old and could really use an update. Cash only!

If you want fresh food, this is the place. Very busy but waited on very promptly. Reminded you of a cafeteria but after being on the road all day, I didn't need any fluff. Located a block or so from the Convention center. Great stuff, cheap.

I happened to walk in at a time when there were open seats. Having heard the place is very busy, and wanting to get back out to walk Chinatown without delay, I ordered quickly. Simply asked the waitress "what is the best soup today?" She told me the sliced beef and the beef brisket. I asked which she preferred, she... More

Located in the heart of China town on Race street, Nan Zhou was highly recommended by Philly Segway guide as we rode by. Yes, hand drawn noodles...your choice of wide or thin...for served in soups or stir fried. You select the soup and stir fry ingredients from seafood to oxtail. Either is a full meal but they also know how... More
