Was here on a business meeting. My boss said it was his first time as well. The restaurant was small but well designed. The greeter and waiter was great. I had Tuna and Avocado Tatar, I did not see any Avocado and the spicy mustard was not enough to use. Other than that I thought it was tasty with the... More

I met a friend for dinner here. The seared tuna with roasted edamame salad was a wonderful plate. My friend ordered the cobb salad and enjoyed it as well. We shared the raspberry bread pudding, which did not disappoint. My biggest complaint is that I was very confused about how happy hour specials work. Do you have to sit at... More

Whenever we are in town, about 4 times a year to visit our son at St' Joe's, we come to Derek's. Our son likes it because none of the rowdy college kids are there and we can have a civilized meal close to his home. The food is fresh, inventive, and abundant. The wine list even impresses my husband who... More

We had a reservation for Derek's on Restaurant Week on a Wednesday night. We arrived at Happy Hour. The place was dead. It was warm and stuffy. We had to eventually ask for them to open the windows. We had to ask for the Happy Hour specials. There was no bartender at the bar. We had to holler into the... More

Main street is full of great restaurants but this is a bit higher class than the rest. Extensive wine list, I had the octopus salad and a special butternut squash ravioli that I hope the chef will put on the regular menu. I will be back!

Visiting friends in town and they took us to eat at Derek's in Manayunk. We chose to sit outside because we had their dogs with us. The waiter immediately brought eah dog a drink of water. We chose a couple of appetizers -spring rolls and the goat cheese/spinach dip that came with toasted bread. Both were delightful. I appreciated the... More

My partner and I had brunch here today. The food is truly delicious, and the $3 mimosas and Bloody Marys are a steal. Imagine our surprise when we visited the bathrooms on our way out of the restaurant, and our feet stuck to the floor. We knew that we were in for an unpleasant ordeal when the stench of urine... Went to Derek's to celebrate my niece's 21st birthday with her parents, her boyfriend and her best friend. This restaurant has a nice vibe - very modern and clean but with cozy dark-ish interior. The cocktails are amazing and beautiful and my niece celebrated with a lychee martini in the shade of pink that matched her dress! The brussels sprouts... More

I ordered the 8-oz. sirloin steak, medium-rare, with asparagus risotto and an onion ring. The food came out hot, which can be hard to achieve, and the steak was tender, moist and perfectly seasoned. Risotto can be too al dente for me; while not mushy, this was perfectly cooked and flavorful. In fact, I just ate my leftovers for brunch... More
