Some examples of our mouth watering Roman delicacies include our signature Artichokes alla Romana, Abbacchio(Lamb chops) scotta dito, and Bucatini all'amatriciana. Contrary to what some people say, we spelled our name as "Core de Roma" intentionally, meaning "The Heart of Rome" in our family's dialect. Our ultimate goal is to make all of our customers feel like family through our cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and home-made dishes. At Core De Roma you can expect the true heart of Rome in the heart of Philly.

My partner and I recently had dinner here to celebrate the holidays. We were early diners, following an afternoon show, so we had the place to ourselves for a little while. We were greeted warmly by Nicole who took care of us throughout dinner. We started the evening with a nice glass of wine, some warm crusty bread accompanied by... More

Loved this cozy little Italian place...excellent sauces on their dishes, not too pricey, servers harried but friendly and helpful.

I don't know how we had missed Core de Roma up to now. Great Italian places tend to be in South Philly as opposed to on South Street, so we weren't sure what we'd find, but what we did was excellent true Roman cuisine in a small, hopping room. The cocktails were great, the hot fresh-baked bread was even better,... More

Unbelievable! That was authentic Roman Italian! The beans, artichokes, cacio e pepe and bresaola! WOW!

My family and I visited this restaurant on our final night in Philly. We have great Italian food in my hometown so it's not easy to impress us. This restaurant did. Every dish was flavorful and fresh and was made with amore. In particular, the gnocchis, artichoke appetizer and pasta were delicious. Our host, Joe, went above and beyond to... More

Very good food, especially loved the artichokes appetizer! Very good service and even though they have a full bar, they allow diners to bring their own wine. And no corkage fee!

This is now my pre-race AND special occasion Italian restaurant, because you cannot go wrong at Core de Roma. Again, we had a 5pm reservation and again, Joe greeted us like family. We were seated at a great table near the statue and had wonderful service from all staff. Food was served fresh, hot and so yummy. I ate my... More

Had a wonderful and very reasonably priced dinner here. Family operated and friendly wait staff. The veal saltinbucca was excellent as was the spaghetti! Mussels were excellent as was the artichoke salad!

At 70 plus years of age and being born in Philadelphia, I've been to many, many Philadelphia restaurants. Have also eaten in Rome, more than once, and Core De Roma lives up to its promise of providing absolutely authentic and perfectly prepared "ROMAN STYLE" food. So many people THINK they know what Italian food is, when in reality, they do... More
