A good tapas restaurant

A tapas restaurant with very good quality food and efficient service. Even though we were a large party the dishes kept on coming at a good pace so no one had to wait. Though a bit pricy, overall a good dining experience.

I really enjoy Basque food in Northern Spain so was delighted to find Tinto, owned by Iron Chef Jose Garces. This restaurant specializes in Basque tapas, which range from soups and salads to shellfish and fish. The wine selection is also good. We found the ambiance to be warm and welcoming and our server was pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. My... More

My daughter lives in Philadelphia and recommended this restaurant for mother's day. Our server Scott was very helpful and professional. He explained tapas concept and portion sizes. Helped us make great choices. Food presentation and taste exceeded expectations. We chose 5 plates: crab, prawns, mushrooms, baby beets ( which were incredible), octopus, and asked Scott to recommend the 6th (duck).... More

Our group couldn't decide how to rate Tinto. The service and presentation were excellent. The restaurant was a bit noisy, as is typical in many urban eateries. The menu was lovely, and they even had a separate, printed gluten free menu. The food itself was mixed. A few items were standouts (duck confit, lamb brochettes), a couple of things were... More

Had the Chef's tasting menu at Tinto - really excellent overall. Food was as good as the best tapas spots in Spain, and the wine list was superb. Really worth a visit!

I ate at the bar and it was a totally enjoyable experience. Wonderful sangria along with a very nice assertion of tapas. The duck confit, short ribs, octopus and scallops were just wonderful and I would order again. Turns out these are the favorites of the bar tender, which I discovered after I ordered and I know why! Highly recommend.... More

We selected this restaurant with no idea what the cuisine of the Basque region was like. However, as fans of Food Network and Iron Chef Jose Garces, we felt safe trying something new. Our party of four opted for the high end tasting menu with paired wines. It was a wonderful introduction to the cuisine of the Basque region of... More

My wife and I ate here for our anniversary and enjoyed everything about this place. With the help of our server David C we went with the chefs tasting with the wine pairing. What an awesome experience, delicious food, great wine and perfect service. There is nothing wrong with Tinto, we will return.

I don't like tapas and I'm not a big fan of Spanish food. But I cannot get enough of Tinto. I have been about a half dozen times and it never gets old and never disappoints. The best way to go is definitely to order the tasting menu and let the chef decide what to bring. With a party of... More

Normally, you expect small portions at a tapas restaurant--but this restaurant is taking this to the extreme. Here's a clue about how they price their menu items. Take a wholesale price for an items, for example, rack of lamb, at about $15/lb. Double this to produce a retail price ($30), serve no more than 1/6 of a pound ($5 of... More
