Why ruin good food with so much salt? Well prepared good produce but 6/8 dishes were too salty. The gazpacho was almost inedible. We mentioned the problem to the waiter who commented "Are you unfamiliar with this chef? This is his signature style. Salty". One of our party ate little as the level of salt was so obvious he felt... More

Our daughter selected Tinto for a family get together and overall, it was a very satisfying experience. I might have given it a 5 rating had it not been "restaurant week" and some items that I was looking forward to just were not available. But our waiter was nothing short of excellent with both dinner and wine selections so any... More

I really wanted to love Tinto, I really did. My husband and I have visited another restaurant owned by Iron Chef Jose Garces (Distrito), and had a lovely time. It's not that the food at Tinto was bad, it was fine. But, for the prices charged, portions, with the exception of the Bomba Rice, were quite small, even for tapas.... More

I was excited about eating at Tinto. We chose the tasting menu with wine pairing and the food was excellent although a bit heavy for our taste. Most of all, for a tasting menu, the food was too plentiful and we were overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of it. Sure, some people want a lot of food for their money,... More

Recently while visiting in Philly I had a mostly positive experience at Tinto. Having eaten at other Garces' restaurants our expectations were high (we love Amadas.) Our server was sweet but confessed this was only her second night working. We tried several of the tapas, including the prosciutto wrapped figs, moules and albondigas. Most of the tapas arrived promptly but... More

I had only been to a tapis restaurant before and it was years ago. My husband had never been to one so it was a completely different experience for him. We loved it after we figured out the menu with the assistance of our waiter Dave. We ordered an assortment of food and loved every bit of it. The red... More

My husband and I are planning a return trip to the Basque region next spring, so we decided to check out the tasting menu at Tinto. After settling into our very nice table, we ordered the more expensive chef's tasting menu at $75pp and the wine pairings at $45pp. The dishes were served tapas style. The first grouping included an... More

We made a reservation and were greeted with kind smiles when we arrived. We were a little early so we had a drink at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and made fabulous drinks! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food, OH THE FOOD, was SO GOOD! We shared the Short rib, the Moules Basquaise, and the... More

Three of us spent over two happy hours sampling the tapas and the wine by the glass on a lovely Friday evening. Every dish was delish! Most especially recommend the lamb brochetta and the pulpo, although the brussels sprouts held their own as well. Will return.

Tinto was so highly recommended on TripAdvisor we decided to give it a try. Turns out one of our friends we were meeting works for a sister restaurant, and they took such great care of us! We visited a month ago, and after getting home from vacation there was so much going on I haven't gotten around to writing a... More
