I wanted to love Tinto, as we had great experiences at other Garces restaurants, including Amada, Distrito, etc. The food was absolutely great. However, when we spend $300 for two for the tasting menu and wine flight, I at a minimum would expect descriptions of what I am eating/drinking. There did not seem to be one individual that was accountable... More

Selecting Tinto for a business dinner was a bold choice but Basque cuisine is one of the best in the world and this was a dinner for two so I went for it. The food was truly outstanding. Lacking inspiration, we selected the tasting dinner (the $75 p.p. option - they have a cheaper one too). Everything was delicious, the... More

Went there with 4 co-workers after a seminar, i was kind of weary of Tapas style restaurants, as many times I leave hungry while spending as much or more money than in a traditional entree type rest. First off, had the "Sopa De Castaño" Truffled chestnut soup, duck & mushroom hash, fried quail egg, pistachio, very inventive and extremely tasty...our... More

The restaurant is neat: it feels like a wine cellar. The service was polite, but a little off (we were clearly trying to catch-up a bit and they didn't seem to want to wait for us to order, even though it wasn't particularly busy that night). I had one great glass of red and one other average one...I had selected... More

Was there with friends and we took the tasting menu which was excellent. My favorite were a salad with beats and meat on skewer dipped in creamy sauce. There were so many good items I can't recollect all. The only downside was the sitting which was a little crowded even though we had reservations made.

Jennie our server talked us into the $75 tasting menu and wow! It included all of their best selections in moe dishes than I can count. We complemented it with the chefs wine tasting for one of the best meals I have had in Philly. Highly recommend.

I went to Tinto in mid-October while on a mom/daughter tourist trip to Philly. FWIW, we are both huge foodies with fairly high expectations. Overall dinner was very good, we would definitely go back, but there were some big highs/lows to dinner. Highs: - "Sopa de Castana" soup: this was absolutely to die for, I've never had such a wonderful... More

Although this place calls itself a Basque tapas place, many of the dishes were from other regions or not even from Spain. I still enjoyed a number of the dishes but would have liked to see them focus on true dishes from the Basque and Asturias regions, rather than US. The Iberian and Serano Hams were excellent, as was the... More

We loved everything we ordered. Manchego cheese, beet salad, Brussels sprouts, lamb, duck, mussels. Red sangria. It was all fantastic. The service was excellent too. They confused our reservation and we had to wait 15 minutes while they found us a table but the wait was worth it.

We arrived and found ourselves with a table overlooking the kitchen - which we loved as we got to watch the chefs prepare an astonishing amount of tapas. The service was excellent and helpful, especially with suggestions. The duck was simply amazing - my mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. The crab croquettes were exquisite and the...
