I was in Philadelphia recently for a business trip and my friend was hungry for tacos so we tried this place out. Sometimes you just want a regular ground beef taco and sometimes you just want queso dip with your chips. This is not the place to get either of these things. You can get goat or vegan beef but... I've been to this restaurant twice and each time I experience something new on the menu. The margaritas are pretty good, as well as their Sunday specials. I would definitely recommend the Black Bean and Tuna tacos!

Hi - had dinner here. All of us had different burritos. While not a fan of burritos, I had one with chicken with jalapenos. Well, lots of rice, of course. The jalapenos seem marinated and not to my taste. We did not know there were cool specials until after the meal. Our server who was really nice did not say... More

Excellent food, great vibe. Would recommend this restaurant any time you are in the mood for Mexican and want authentic food.

I am surprised to see so many reviews that are critical of the service at this place. Maybe they made some changes? but the night I was there the staff was excellent. Our servers were very attentive and knowledgeable about their food and drink menus. The food was also excellent. My G.F. and I stopped in around 10 p.m. for... More

Food-wise this place is excellent. Basically an innovative mexican restuarant with creative preparations. Flavors are very good (though never quite match our expectations). Chips and salsa on the table are very good. Burritos (try the goat) are very good. Flavored Margaritas are very good. Downside: It is LOUD and crowded in the restaurant. They've added outside seating but it to... More

I have been to the Cantina a few times, never again. The servers make you feel like you are doing them a favor being there. I think it is more of a hipster bar than a place for anything else. I did not like seing the large bait stations all around the outer fence. The outside area was packed so... More

I live in the neighborhood and used to go with out of town guests for a margarita on the patio and just accept the cold pre-made guacamole and mediocre margaritas as part of the south Philly charm but the service just keeps getting worse. South Philly is a great neighborhood with friendly people but the Cantina is not a good... More

The homemade chips placed on table were excellent. We were given two sauces, both rather tasty. Should note that we were scraping dish for sauce with over half of our chips remaining. We asked for more sauce, and the same diminutive portions were served. As for entrees, the chicken totada was very good. A nice blend of veggies with chicken,... More
