My wife and I stopped here for coffee one morning while touring Old City. The décor and environment is very nice. The employees were unfriendly. The coffee was way too hot and tasted burnt and charred. My wife thought the coffee was extremely bitter as well. This coffee shop has too many quirks to be rated an excellent coffee shop.

Visited here in the Reading Market, where they have a stall with coffee (of course) and other goodies. I just needed coffee, so can only comment on that, but it was great...exactly what I want in a cup, super depth of flavor, fresh and super hot. The foods looked tasty, but we had just eaten so weren't in the mood... More

Great coffee & fresh baked goods. They have salads & other items. Service was great. If weather pemitting there is a few outdoor tables.

I get mine whole bean. Be careful if you take public transportation while carrying ground coffee. People will bombard you with questions about the delightful fresh coffee smell. Or you can just make new friends & laugh.

Visiting the old city Philly with a good friend who took me here to meet up with colleagues for coffee and conversation. Very good coffee, perhaps strong for some but having lived in South America for many years, this was on par with that part of the world. Roasted and ground locally in small batches, gives this place its unique... More

Awesome coffee and terrific atmosphere. This place can't be beat. Starbucks has nothing on this place. I'll take small and apersonable nytime.

Went for coffee and quick bite to eat before setting off to Atlantic City for the day. The tenant space is quaint, but very small and only one table with two chairs outside. The coffee was good, but nothing special. I also had the yogurt and granola, pretty basic. The cranberry muffin was okay, but a bit dry. The breakfast... More

Roasted and ground locally in small batches, Old City is the real deal. The cups are hot and brewed with good strength of flavor. They feature their different coffees so they can be sampled and you can decide which ones to buy in bags and take home - for yourself and for gifts. Great teas as well!

We visited the location in the Old City on Church Street, but bought our coffee at the location in the Reading Terminal Market due to the fact that the first location was out of almond milk. We enjoyed an iced black tea that was good, but the almond milk mocha latte was superb! Definitely a spot to return to on... More

We moved to Zurich 2 1/2 years ago and Old City Coffee is one of the things we miss most from Philly. Great, strong coffee and fresh, tasty muffins. Friendly staff and plenty of seating. Free wifi too.
