A little blah

I took my husband to Osteria for his 50th birthday. His choice. We had been there in the past and thought it was excellent. I think now their prime has passed. It was just okay. First the good things. The service is excellent, and almost makes up for the so so food. The cocktails were very good, a... read more

I was able to visit Osteria with several business colleagues while on a trip to Philadelphia. Wow! We had a nice pizza with fresh prosciutto to share as a starter, which was terrific. Light, crispy crust with great flavor. Two colleagues shared the steak for two--it could have served three or four, and they said it was fantastic but didn't... More

I chose this restaurant based on other Tripadvisor reviews. And the reviews were right! The menu is very different from most Italian restaurants. But the food was excellent! And the wine was even better. Thanks to our waitress, Corinne, we had a delightful evening. We cannot wait to go back!

My wife and I had dinner at Osteria earlier this month. Upon arrival, I was shocked at the casualness of the restaurant given it's price point. Some patrons in jeans while others in business casual. Nevertheless, this did not subtract from our experience. We enjoyed a few cocktails at their bar and browsed their wine list on their provided iPads.... More

came here with a work group for a business dinner and we ordered several starters to share. The vegetable antipasti was amazing. The shrimp crudo was delicious in an bright sweet and tart blood orange dressing. We also had grilled octopus, which was very nice. We shared a gnocchi which was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever... More

The NJ location at Mooretown Mall was just as good as the one in Philadelphia. We arrived later in the evening and just enjoyed pizza at the bar. Wafer thin pizza crust, creative toppings, great cocktails, and a lively atmosphere.

When you combine an outstanding chef with exceptional service and a warm, comfortable atmosphere, the results are amazing. Osteria has been providing diners with a fantastic experience since it first opened ... And it just keeps getting better.

Our party of six had a tremendous meal here. It was a totally gluttonous meal - worth every calorie (and dollar!). We arrived in two groups. The first group was seated, given a bread basket with several kinds of bread and drink orders were taken. I hate it when places won't seat you unless your entire party is there -... More

My girlfriend and I took my son and his girlfriend to Osteria last night, at his request, because he'd heard it was terrific. We arrived at 5 sharp with reservations, as my son and his girlfriend had 7 p.m. theatre tickets two blocks away. Valet parking was $12 (and necessary, given the neighborhood). We were nearly the first people there,... More

One of Marc Vetri's little gems in the City of Brotherly Love. Menu is small but everything is so good it's better not to have too many choices. Been here after Barnes and museum hopping. Always glad to return. Salads are sharable and the pizza choices are unbeatable. It's small so try to come a little before or later than... More
