I heard about High Street from friends in the know, and boy, am I even further in their debt. Philadelphia has so many great breakfast places, and High Street is among the very best. I had the Market Breakfast, a mixed plate with locally made bologna, fresh eggs, sautéed broccoli rabe with some kind of tasty salumi mixed in, and... More

Enjoyed an early meal here recently for dinner.. The restaurant has a relaxed, yet sophisticated vibe. Servers brought a complimentary starter of crispy salt and pepper kale-unusual, but light with interesting taste and texture. My appetizer consisted of a delicious starter of charcoal grilled squid with cauliflower, pleasantly seasoned with coriander. As pastas here are a specialty, I chose the... More

We really liked the food, but we may have liked the atmosphere/vibe even more. High Street has that certain something that makes for a great evening in a wonderful setting. The restaurant is small and the chefs are practically an arm's length away, making it feel like a bunch of friends cooking just for you. Except your friends probably can't... More

While looking at the menu, everything was tempting, so I decided to take the special meal that was $50 for 8 meals selected by the chef. This is a really good way to enjoy many meals at this place, but be careful: you need to be hungry ! This is a lot of food, so if you want to enjoy... More

4 of us were able to get a reservation for dinner on a thursday night -- had some drinks next door at Fork before heading for dinner. We decided on the chefs choice tasting menu for $50/person. There was so much food that we could barely make it through. Some highlights were the fried broccoli, lobster on black bread, lamb... More

I was really looking forward to have lunch or dine at High Street after reading the reviews. Unfortunately the place was fully booked for both lunch and dinner for the whole weekend. But when I strolled by in the morning, the place was open for breakfast, so I took the opportunity! Service was good and friendly. I ordered a pastrami... More

We (4) ordered four choices from the "to Share" menu. They were all excellent. We decided to share two pasta ( green tea lasagna and angry crab spaghetti) dishes. Only complaint was they were both heavy on the salt. One of our party was on a low-salt diet so ate almost none of them. Ice cream dessert was excellent. Special... More

I went to visit my sister in Philadelphia last weekend and my one request was that we eat at High Street on market. Bon Appetite gave it a glowing review and listed it as one of their top ten new restaurants in Phillie - deservedly! We did the $50 per person sharing menu which was well priced and delicious. The... Not many restaurants know how to introduce a gourmet touch to a breakfast menu without overdoing things. But everything had been carefully thought out and put together. There were plenty of healthy options. And the bread - home baked - was to die for.
