We stumbled upon this place with a Philadelphia local. He highly recommended this spot, because it's apparently one of the oldest bars in Philly. It was my boyfriends birthday that evening and he enjoyed every moment! Great spot for good brews and late night fatty bar eats. A must while in Philadelphia, as it's one of the coolest and oldest... I'll keep it short and simple, great food, great beer selection all at the right price. Gee Gee was our bartender and she was fantastic, when I'm back in town I know where I'll be going! Enjoy...

Stopped in for beer only - no eats. Friendly place with lots of history and old Philly ambiance. Staff were helpful and efficient. Many difference beers to choose from - we'll go back here again.

Check out the oldest beer hall in Philly - since 1860, they say. Fair prices, fast service, decent pub grub. Can get pretty rowdy. Tucked down a side street that gives it a little extra ambiance.

Oldest & bestest historic pub in Center City - there's always a friendly upbeat crowd in festively decorated McGillins, where good brews & food & great service make you want to return again & again which we do whenever we get the chance.

Finding mcgillins is easy if you hang out in alleys. I had an early dinner there and found it to be noisy, even though it was not very busy. The shepherds pie was something less than mediocre and consistent with the rest of the experience. The Guinness was warm and had 3 times the usual head for Guinness on tap. All... More

My family and I stopped by for a bite to eat for lunch during our visit to Philly. The food was great, the service was quick, and the price was very reasonable! I totally recommend this place. I will definitely stop by again during my next visit!
