My spouse and I were visiting Philly for the first time, and wanted to experience our first Philly cheese steak at a bar instead from a street vendor, McGillin's is only a couple of blocks from the hotel we were at. We were not disappointed but very please with both the atmosphere and friendly waitress. We ordered a pitcher of... More

I went and ate lunch at McGillins. It's off the wall in a little alley just south of Macy's Center City. The food was great and the service was attentive. It has an Irish bar atmosphere. They have fresh homemade soup that all you can eat. I went back for dinner, and it was simply too crowded.

Had a great evening in here, went on the Thursday when they had an open mic night great entertainment. The food and drink was wonderful and the bill at the end of the evening amazing. So glad we saw it on here.

McGillin's has their own special watermelon mix which I had in the margarita. They offer a few other watermelon flavored drinks. Very yummy! I visited for lunch 06/22/2014 and had the 3 shrimp meal with a house salad. Homemade croutons on the salad should be available for purchase I would have bought a couple bags they were sooooo tasty. Fried... More

I dont care how old of an establishment it is. They have some crazy reason they dont sell Guinness. Our waitress told me they are so established that they dont need to sell Guinness, which she indicated was a beer offered at other Irish pubs that didnt have enough of a reputation to do without it. What dont they get??... More

I was glad we had a beer, but it was incredibly LOUD. We could barely carry on a conversation - maybe I am just too old for the blaring music, but yelling to across the table so you hear one another is ridiculous at 3pm. I will say we did have great service.

The oldest bar in Philly. Try the sampler. You will love it. Went for a double date and had a blast. Highly recommended for beer lovers

What a nice surprise to be able to walk only a few blocks from our Lowes hotel on Market street and find a charming Irish pub with great food too! My husband had the hot turkey and stuffing and I had the Mussels - delish and generous portions. And the price was so reasonable - we had the beer sampler... More

We stumbled upon this place as we were out exploring. We were hungry with two hungry kids in tow. The restaurant was loud, but upstairs was a bit better. We had a corner table which was nice, the service was fast and friendly, but the food was mediocre at best. There really are so many other places to eat in... More

We stopped here after doing some visiting. We weren't very impressed with the initial look of the place. We ordered a sampler and decided on eating there afterwards. The beer was good and the phillysteaks were great. The staff isn't really attentive. When we went to the bathroom we noticed the signs listing this as one of the top 5... More
