Never Disappointed

We have gone to the Philly Auto Show for the last four years and a cheesesteak from Geno's is always on the list. It tastes great every year and I especially enjoy mine with Provolone and Onions. This year, I added some of the peppers that are available in the condiment area. I guess they are... read more

I went there because it was featured on the "Man vs Food" show. The locals I have been working with warned me not to waste my time as there were better places in town. Sadly, my local friends were correct. The service was quick and friendly - there is an art to ordering a Cheese Steak in Philly. I had... More

Geno's or Pat's? Pat's or Geno's? Well they're right across the street from each other so try them both! I like them both but I prefer Geno's slightly because the meat is chopped up rather than somewhat thickly sliced at Pat's. They would be 5 stars but the prices have gone insanely through the roof, now over $10 for a... More

What has happened here ? I had mine with provolone and ketchup but the meat tasted and broke apart differently than I remember from 2 years ago. The meat was cooked mine you but it just wasn't the way it tasted for decades. I do not know what has happened ( Geno's passing ? R.I.P. ) possibly but they better... More

We ventured out to try the competitive cheese steak sandwich in Philly.... well the waiting outside in a long line outside in the cold and the lack of public restroom posed a major challenge to our visit. The food was sandwiches were decent--no big wows, but we ate them. We failed to buy drinks as there is a separate line... More

Returned to Genos (after several years) in hopes of what I remembered as an awesome cheesesteak sandwich. WAS I LET DOWN !!! The sandwich was just "ehhh". Maybe my expectations were too high? I dunno, I just was not impressed and really believe I can make better myself. The bun was good, the cheese was good, I think the meat... More

Obviously had to come and have cheese steak from one of the two famous cheese steak places. We chose Geno's as it had available seats outside. My boyfriend had been before but for me it was a first. I liked it, I just thought it was a bit pricey with $20 for 2 cheese steaks, not including drinks and fries....I'm... More

I prefer their steaks to PAT'S ...THEN AGAIN ...I eat both and went to school with the owners of Pat's so I hope they don't read this. Something about unchopped and Un shredded steak makes these my favorite along with the cheese fries and outdoor seating in summer spring winter or fall. If you have out of towners....you gotta go... We spent one chilly day in Philadelphia and decided to try one of the famous Philly cheesesteak restaurants. We decided to head to Geno's because the line was wrapped around the building so we figured it must be good. We ordered a mushroom Philly cheesesteak with wiz and it didn't disappoint. But remember cash only and they don't have a... More
