I went to Geno's with a friend of mine the other day and was not impressed by the restaurant at all. Although it was said to be a food landmark of Philly, I wasn't pleased at all. The service was poor (the staff was extremely rude) and the food mediocre. The beef was cold when I got it. Secondly, it... More

Service good and efficient. Also friendly and explained choices to us. Good local fast food. Nice to experience a philly steak sandwich.

Tried both Geno's and Pat's steak sandwiches. We selected Pat's as the winner because of flavor and texture. However, If you ask anybody in the area, you will get mixed results. Geno's has a ton of customers who swear by their cheesesteaks.

I m not doing well with cheese Steak hunt. Although slightly better than Pat's, it could be done better. Hopefully others, have a better luck than me. I ll be back one day in Philly to give this icon another try.

We did a Pat & Geno's taste off last night. We all agreed that Geno's was better. Some felt intimated by the ordering process. I say if you speak English the you can order. If not DO NOT go here. It's clear you are not welcome as posted in the window.

I was very disappointed for the following reasons: 1) The sandwich toppings are very limited. You only have a choice of a few types of cheeses and onions. No peppers or mushrooms are available. 2) Our sandwiches were extremely thin. They aren't very generous with the steak or cheese. 3) The steak and bread were very chewy. There was a... More

Had the sandwich with onions and whiz. Tasty but salty. Definitely a must try if in the Philly area. Service was fast and friendly but we were there by 9am. Glad we tried it but I would be open to trying the competition next time.

Have to try Geno's if you come to philly. They have a very good cheese steak but I still think Pats is better.

I wasn't blown away by the cheese steak.... the bread was good, the meat mediocre and a bit bland. Long lines not worth the wait. I could definitely whip up a better cheese steak.

Genos was a good sandwich but not quite as good as Pats. I would suggest you have to eat at both if you have never been so you can make up your own mind. If Genos is given to me I am not going to turn it down, but If I get to pick I'm going with Pats. The taste... More
