I recently took a date on a day trip to Philadelphia to the infamous Geno's Steak home of the official Philly Cheesesteak sandwich! As soon as you pull up you see a huge swell of people who are in line purchasing the sandwiches, I took my turn and the food was great, we sat outside and a continuos flow of... More

Geno's Steaks was a good time and had a nice Cheese Steak. Certainly it is a bit outside of city center and takes a bit of work to get to and there will be a wait when you get there, but they know how to crank out the meals. They had good bread and oddly enough their onions on the... More

We went to both Geno's and Pat's and got a cheesesteak from both. They were both good, but Pat's was the best hands down!! Pat's meat tastes fresher and has more flavor. It's all about the roll!

Cheese steak with cheese & onions is delicious, but Pat's is somehow way better! However, you can't go here & not try both to compare.

I was in Philly and wanted to visit one of the famous cheese steak places. I enjoyed the atmosphere and visiting a "famous" place but I must say the cheese steak was just average. It is good and I wouldn't complain about anything but the food didn't live up to the hype. I ate a cheese steak from Steve's Prince... More

People are on here complaining about the staff being rude and it being too expensive and not happy about the "plate" it comes on. All that matters here is that the cheesesteak with onions and cheese sauce is incredible, I would defo go back. Yes the staff were rather straightfaced and it comes in a paper wrap but who cares,... Stopped in last week and enjoyed a great cheese steak. I ordered it with onion and cheese, with a side of fries. Everything tasted great and I will be back later this month on another trip.

Being born in Philly, I feel I’m somewhat of an authority on their food. I’ve eaten a cheese steak or two on my life and while I’ve eaten Geno’s and Pat’s steaks many times neither is the best of Philly IMHO. Like most point out the service is efficient, but the employees have a sense of entitlement. I find Geno’s... More

Despite all the neon and rude staff, the cheesesteaks are pretty good. I've tried Jims and Tony Lukes and many others but I prefer one from Pats or Genos. I just wish they weren't rude to their customers.... I would think their business would flourish ten-fold. Give them a try....

It's the rolls that make the difference. From what I understand, they bake their own. Didn't care much for Pat's steaks which I tried the day before for lunch on a routine business trip to Philly.
