This place was run by a racist, Joey Vento until his death. The food was always mediocre-- canned mushrooms, and canned cheese (wiz). When this clown put up the sign that his patrons would be required to order in English, I knew I would never be back. Joey Vento would evidently have turned away his own grandparents, who like my... I watched a tv program about this diner and thought must visit when in Philadelphia they also have Pats which I understand was the original founder of the philli steak sandwich I tried em both on different days found the one from Pats to be more to my liking But Geno place got a lot more glitz about it

We bought from both well- known places. Pat's was much better food and service. I actually saw a worker throw French fries at a customer because the customer was sitting with someone who bought a steak sub from Pat's.

Leaving Philly on Amtrak writing my review on cheesesteaks. I tried 5 of the most popular. Geno's, Pats, Campo's, Tony Luke's, & Jim's Steaks. 1st Geno's. First off it wasn't shaved like most, making it tougher and stringy. It wasn't that impressive with the taste either. Not bad fry's though. I did like how he had his own place you... More

I had the opportunity to try a Geno's Philly cheesesteak sandwich recently and it was good. The quality of the meat wasn't bad but I think the roll could have been better. I would expect a place with as much fanfare to use the best quality of every ingredient and I felt some things were lacking. It was tasty nonetheless.

Good cheese steak.. Definitely solid. The place across the street was better that day as we tried both, but was certainly enjoyable.

Went to Geno's and pats while we were in Philly. Geno's was good but more of a tourist thing then a great cheesesteak. Good to visit if u are looking for a decent cheesesteak in a historical site in Philly but didnt compare to Pats. The bread at Geno's was rubbery the cheese was watery and the wait took forever.... Capping off a visit to the city of brotherly love, we decided to go to genos before we headed back home to New York. It was a cold evening on Sunday January 19, 2014 and we asked one of the employees if they had indoor seating. Unfortunately they don't have indoor seating but they told us we can go to... More
