Conflicted

We come here once a year for a show but always have dinner first. It's a requirement for reserved seating. The chef is pretty good. We were hoping the goat cheese with candied fennel would be on the menu. That was to die for and we had that last year. This trip, I ordered the salmon. It was raw... read more

Since all the restaurants we wanted to go to were packed we selected Serrano's. The fact that it was nearly empty should have been our first clue. The food was seriously disappointing! Mediocre at best. The portions are puny & expensive for what you get. No bread for the table unless u ask. Nothing special seemed like a sliced roll.... More

Warning to disabled people - my wife and I were very disappointed to discover there is no wheelchair access for the shows on the 2nd floor. Doing a flight of stairs in a wheelchair simply doesn't work. Neither of the two online web reservation systems shown on their website work either.

Annual tradition: Come up to Philly for a Flyers game and go out for dinner. First stop is City Tavern, which is very close by, and a fun experience whether just for drinks or also for food. But this review is about Serrano - we stumbled on it the first time we were looking for a place to eat and... More

Food downstairs great for any one in Old city and much less expensive than many of the places and the music upstairs always first rate and so intimate, great venue

i've eaten here several times before. i've always been fairly happy with my meals here in the past - decent food, decent service, nothing to go nuts about either way. however, this past time i was sorely disappointed. ate here a few nights ago before we attended a show upstairs at the tin angel. the only thing that interested me... The chef allows no substitutions and the menu on line which looked extensive was about 1/4 of the size when we ate there. I was really disappointed about that since I don't eat meat or poultry and couldn't substitute anything. The portions are small as well.

The tin angel is where my boyfriend and I had our first date so we go here every year for our anniversary. The food is amazing every time, our server is always attentive and friendly. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the great deals they always have for the shows upstairs. We've been coming here for 3 years... More

We had no plans for dinner, just walking down 2nd street reading menus. So glad we stopped at Serrano's. We were able to sit in the window enjoying the early evening air. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese, scallops with asparagus and orange sauce, the hanger steak with olive sauce and don't forget the chickpea fries.... More

Me and my girlfriend have been positively surprised by this restaurant. Although the not-so-special look from the outside, inside the atmosphere was warm and romantic, with candle lights and a tasteful use of paint. We ordered the vegetable curry, which was good, and the surf+turf, which has been amazing. Really good cooking and nice serving, for prices in the average.... More
