We come here once a year for a show but always have dinner first. It's a requirement for reserved seating. The chef is pretty good. We were hoping the goat cheese with candied fennel would be on the menu. That was to die for and we had that last year. This trip, I ordered the salmon. It was raw. It... More

i've eaten here several times before. i've always been fairly happy with my meals here in the past - decent food, decent service, nothing to go nuts about either way. however, this past time i was sorely disappointed. ate here a few nights ago before we attended a show upstairs at the tin angel. the only thing that interested me... The chef allows no substitutions and the menu on line which looked extensive was about 1/4 of the size when we ate there. I was really disappointed about that since I don't eat meat or poultry and couldn't substitute anything. The portions are small as well.

The tin angel is where my boyfriend and I had our first date so we go here every year for our anniversary. The food is amazing every time, our server is always attentive and friendly. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the great deals they always have for the shows upstairs. We've been coming here for 3 years... More

We had no plans for dinner, just walking down 2nd street reading menus. So glad we stopped at Serrano's. We were able to sit in the window enjoying the early evening air. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese, scallops with asparagus and orange sauce, the hanger steak with olive sauce and don't forget the chickpea fries.... More

Me and my girlfriend have been positively surprised by this restaurant. Although the not-so-special look from the outside, inside the atmosphere was warm and romantic, with candle lights and a tasteful use of paint. We ordered the vegetable curry, which was good, and the surf+turf, which has been amazing. Really good cooking and nice serving, for prices in the average.... More

Great place to take that lucky one you've been chasing after. Guaranteed (not liable for any dumb moves on your part) to motivate a great night kiss.

My wife and I went to see David Ryan Harris at Tin Angel and had dinner at Serrano before the show. Our server, Michael, was very friendly and accommodating. We started off with the wonton appetizers which were amazing. With a different spin on the typical wonton, the dish is served with small wonton "cups." The appetizer comes with three... More

Serrano is the restaurant affiliated with the "Tin Angel", a folk music club on 2nd street in Old City Philadelphia. I've been eating here for over 10 years. It's a funky mix of dark wood and Moroccan in spired tapestries provide a relaxed, eclectic environment. The food is always excellent, and the new chef has updated the menu and comes... More

Decided to go here for our evening meal as the menu looked good and the wine as (un)reasonably priced as anywhere else in the area. The restaurant is long and narrow with about 4 tables at the front near the window and perhaps another 10 at the back beyond the bar. We were seated in the front area at a... More
