I don't think this review will be of much help, but will lay it out there anyway. Three family members, all experienced steakhouse diners, paid a visit to Ruth Chris' in downtown Philly. We made a last minute decision to fine here after seeing a show across the street at the Wilma Theater. We arrived at 9:20pm. I am hoping that the late arrival is why the food was sub-par. Both steaks were over-cooked. Mine was significantly over-cooked. The broccoli au gratin was mushy and unimpressive. I expected much better food for the... More

A visit to this restaurant was pleasing. This was a dinner before a show at the Academy of Music. The wait staff were very aware of the time for us as they did not want us to be late for our musical. The appetizers (lobster bisque, caesar salad and gumbo) were served at the right temperatures. The main entrees (stuffed... More

The location is very good for The Kimmel center visitors. You can have a bite before the performance. The steaks are very good, excellent service. a bit pricey.

Had an as usual, great experience at R.C. last night. Reservation seating, on time. Nice quiet table in corner that seated 4 but only 2 of us. Waiter, Sean, perfect all night. First time tried house salad w/blue cheese and really pleased. Martini's good and cold. Steaks came as ordered and creamed spinach (my favorite) up to usual standard. The... More

Make sure you bring your big boy wallet and your tipping cash. From the second you pull up, be ready to be treated -- valet parking at the door (I wish EVERYWHERE in Philly had valet). I typically suggest making a reservation, but attendance has been down as of recently, so you may be able to get some walk-in seating... More

First it was Valentine's Day ok I get it your busy! They don't acknowledge you right as you enter. Few young ladies were hovering around and then finally a young lady says reservations? Like Yeh it's Valentine's Day at ruth chris duh! She proceeds to take us to our table, takes our coats. Mind you my hat went missing, lost,... More

This was our first time back in several years and definitely our last time. We started with salads, caesar for my husband and chopped for me. I had requested no onions and it came with onions and had to go back. By the time I got it my husband had finished his salad which he said was just romaine, croutons,... More

Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful time here on February 1st. It was her first time to Ruth's chris. Our Filet mignon dishes were cooked to perfection. Only problem was that I ordered mine with apoive sauce which came to the table cold. So I sent it back, by the time it came back hot , the steak was... More

Let me say I just had to try again, as I previously stated this is my favorite restaurant. So I can only say it must have been a off night when I wrote Downhill. It is with pleasure I can say Ruth's is still my favorite restaurant. What I suggest is reserving a table a little later in the evening... More
