This is a cute, locally owned restaurant with reasonably priced, tasty food. It's located on South Street amid the bars and cheap clothing and sneaker stores, but once you're inside the ambiance is cozy, with a brick oven burning in the front. The food is fresh--I had the seafood special, and the fish and calamari were tender and flavorful. My... More

I was going to be in Philadelphia with 24 other people for a long weekend, and was responsible for making the dinner arrangements for our first night there. (Italian had been agreed upon for the first night.) After narrowing the field to three restaurants (all highly rated on TripAdvisor and elsewhere) and speaking with them, I decided on La Fourno.... Well, after our first trip was so great, we decided another visit was necessary and we were not disappointed. The food was great again, and the service was exceptional. The prices are very reasonable, and portion size very nice. There is no outside dining and the bar selection is very limited, but my wife enjoyed a specialty Maple flavored cocktail... More

La Fourno was highly recommended by the hotel that we were staying at in Philly. The meal could not have been better!. We enjoyed the melon appetizer; the salads were fresh and well-prepared. One of their specialties is veal parmesan which my wife ordered. It was superb! I enjoyed my chicken masala,as well. The side of pasta was cooked to... More

We had a last-minute need to find a place for 12 rowdy hungry guys to eat in Center City Philadelphia, and our hotel concierge set up at La Fourno. They booked the group room on the 2nd floor for us--and it was beautiful indeed but the most memorable thing was the service and the outright friendliness we were treated to.... More

My wife and I decided to try this place out after seeing it listed on Groupon. We always like to try new places when we come into the city for theater night. We were greeted by Francis the Manager who was very entertaining. We each had a drink, me a draft Peroni beer and my wife a specialty cocktail which... More

Had a Groupon, went and tried La Fourno. The website clearly says "compliment your meal with a selection from our wine list, or BYOB!" It DOESN'T tell you there's a ridiculous $20.00 upcharge to enjoy your own wine. Very bad form. (Corking fees are an occasional evil, but $20.00!!?? WAY over the top). Bread was hot and served with oil;... More

I went here with a friend, who had been here before and wanted to go again while we were in the area, and it was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I'm really glad she had me go, because it's definitely a place I'll be stopping at again. The place is small, in an intimate way, and we... More

I have to say that I wasn't very impressed. The food was OK....the portion sizes were extremely small and we had a groupon. It seems like since they knew you had a groupon, everything was much much smaller portions. The only reason why I gave this 2 stars and not 1 star was because the service was very good. They...
