When visiting Philadelphia there are certain obligatory things to do. A cheese steak is one. A police officer recommended this place so I had high expectations. All my expectations were blown away. The sandwich was made from scratch, not made from meet and onions waiting from earlier. Bread was amazing, and the amount they put on the sandwich impressive.

Very good pizza at reasonable price. Large selection and worth visiting. I had the pepperoni and sausage. The crust was great and the pizza was fresh from the oven.

We went To joes to taste tomato pie on our food tour. Apparently, you have to make sure hue hey have it that day perhaps giving notice. But being pizza lovers we were very skeptical that we'd like it. We were all wowed. The crust, the sauce, oh my!

Been a couple of times. First time very very good, second time average. Would try again in the hope of the pizza being up to the standard of the first one.

This pizzeria has an incredible selection of food to choose from. If you are in the area, I would strongly recommend trying their tomato pie as well as the mozzarella and spinach pizza!! As an added bonus it's in a great location, easy to access and the staff there are always so welcoming and helpful.

After an earthquake destroyed Zio Toto’s garden of figs, tomatoes, eggplant and basil in Sicily, he packed up his family and moved to Philadelphia. The family recipes have been passed down to Zio’s grandson and are now part of Joe’s Pizza. Joe’s has a large variety of pizzas. When we were there, we had the tomato pie. It is said... More

Went during the busy lunch hour while traveling in the city. I was pressured to make a quick decision because there wasn't much room to view the pizza, a line behind you, and a guy barking at you "whatta due-ya want". I settled on a slice of sausage. The slice was put in the oven maybe 2 minutes. The cheese... More

This place really should be a great pizza joint, but isn't. 80 year old coming in to make a Sicilian tomato sauce... a stop on a Philly food tour... 15+ different pizzas by the slice... packed at lunchtime, but highly efficient line... unfortunately, doesn't stand out. Sauce is not exceptional (good acidity, but without the fruity velvety of great tomatoes).... More
