For us, a visit to Philadelphia is not complete without a visit to Reading Terminal Market and breakfast at the Dutch Eating Place. This is a small luncheonette like restaurant within the market. During busy times, there are two lines, one for carryout and one for seating. If the line for seating looks long, don't despair. People move in and... More

I had the raisin french toast with bacon and my husband had the pancakes, eggs and sausage. Let me tell you it was great! We really enjoyed our breakfast. Next time will ask for potatoes and sausage instead. Didn't realize they had it. I saw their apple dumplings and didn't realize they are suppose to be delicious. I read the... More

We try to eat here whenever we visit the market early in the morning. My advice is to get here early as their is only counter seating and its hard for larger groups to get seated. The food is great and gets served quickly. Don't plan on sitting around drinking coffee because they want you in and out to get... More

Sure there a lot of people and noise. But they will welcome you up to the counter and make you feel at home. You have to try the chicken pot pie. It felt like it was made just for you. It a hard place to find in the market but you should seek this place out. You will find yourself... More

The soup, homemade roll, cole slaw, and chicken and dumplings were great - miss that type of old style cooking from family restaurants now that chains are about all that exist.

This is a very simple diner-esque Amish eatery in the Reading Terminal Market. We waited about 30 minute sin the queue for seats at the counter and it was well worth it. Food is traditional Amish comfort food. Very heavy. This is not a place for vegetarians or people afraid of butter. Breakfast is traditional eggs, bacon, pancakes and local... More

The market is huge! So asked a number of workers and even Police Officers having coffee where it was and no one knew, but just keeping heading to the back of the market, somewhat near the restrooms (now everyone knows where that is!). It's also near Beiler's Bakery and Donuts. There were a number of counter places to eat; however... More

This eatery with lunch counter dining is located in the Reading Terminal Market. They are busy ALL OF THE TIME, but the meal was worth it. I had the chicken and dumplings which was served as more of a stew and just okay, but the roast beef and potatoes looked DIVINE. Dinner rolls were good, but for me the start... More

It may be a Philly thing, but if you have never eaten scrapple try it here. Ground meats, either pork or turkey, with tons of spices and cornmeal, deep fried to perfection. Order grits or home fries to go with it, or try their huge pancakes, blueberry yum! Open faced turkey with gravy and mashed potatoes....and don't forget the apple... More
