Surprisingly Good Food

I have to say, when I walked in, I was not expecting the food to be of the quality it was. The place looks more like a lounge than a restaurant. That said, the food was great! I was disappointed that they didn't have any of the few wines we requested, but they did have the expensive options. No... read more

Recently on a layover, we stumbled upon this restaurant in old city section of Philly. Although it looked a little past its glory days at first we decided to try it anyway. What a delight! The ubiquitous philly cheese steak was tender flavorful and the bread was perfect. The crab cakes, well, we had to reorder a second helping they... More

Stopped in on a trip to Philly, great steak and while sides are "a la carte" they are huge! Staff was on task, service good. It's not an outstanding restaurant but you won't be disappointed.

Marmont seemed to me like a bar that serves substantial food also. More tables outside in the evening than inside. We asked for a quiet table away from the bar when we make our reservation. We were seated next to the bar. But it was early and there were few persons there, so it was not too loud for enjoyment.... More

Chateaubriand for two was good but pretty on the thin side. The service was really bad. They completely burned our kids burgers. We didn't complain but after bringing the check the guy asked if we wanted their food wrapped, we said no thanks they are burned. He took the plates and walked away. No sorry no anything. We will not... More

We showed up around 8:30 on a Thursday night during restaurant week and they squeezed us in to an outside table. Our server explained the special pricing for the Restaurant Week and we decided to get the New York Strip and Stuffed Halibut. Both came with a fresh mixed green salad and Lobster Bisque soup. From beginning to end, the... More

We visited for lunch on a Saturday. The steak tips salad was delicious, & the chicken avocado sandwich was also very good. Note that fries cost extra. Service was friendly but a little slow from the beginning (that first greeting took awhile as did a first drink) and we had to ask for soda refills. Restrooms seemed clean but still... More

Skip this place. Overpriced, uninspiring wines; unattentive service; average food. Came looking for a great steak but was sorely disappointed. Walk a couple doors down to Fork for a phenomenal meal or try a comparable steak and wine list at Longhorn steakhouse.

Dan suggested the grouper and o.m.g. I've never had better. Perfectly sautéed with the lightest dusting of Cajun seasoning (optional) and what seemed like a citrus butter on the grilled asparagus plus delicate slices of just baked bread made for a delicious meal. I opted to dine al fresco but noticed their interior was inviting. This place is in Old... More
