The main restaurant is very small; however, there are two private rooms available for larger parties. The building is very historic in nature and has a bit of a musty smell, but expected and not overpowering. The wine list is a huge book with a page for each label and you can view the wine cellar area when you head... More

An excellent restaurant serving traditional Italian food. On a visit to Philadelphia, this restaurant was recommended by our hotel and we were not disappointed. Our dinner was the best we had in Philadelphia with salad and pasta to start and fish for our main course. The service was excellent.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years. The last two years I started to see it slipping a bit, when waiters had been established with the restaurant for many years started to disappear. I went to the restaurant this pass saturday to celebrate my dads 65th B Day. Two words would describe the event TRAIN WRECK!! It... More

It had been several years since we had eaten here and the last time our experience was mixed, but last night it was back to the old La Famiglia we had come to love. The whole evening was a pleasure. You will feel very comfortable getting a little dressed up to dine here -- it's definitely a special-occasion place. Candlelight... More

Thankfully I was not picking up the tab because it escalated quickly...but the entire experience was excellent. The staff were perfectly attentive and helpful with suggestions; the appetizers were amazing (although very partial to the ones more focused upon octopus and calamari), and the wine was insane. The fish special (served whole, filleted tableside, and elegantly presented) was very good,... More

Called in on a Wednesday evening quite early. Just passing but attracted by the menu and the endorsements posted outside. A nice space to eat in. Food not as good as I had hoped and not the best value either. The wine list is spectacular, as is the wine cellar, and they are good wines and priced seriously Then again... More

For classic Italian dining you can't do better than La Famiglia. The decor, cuisine and the service were as close to an Italian experience as one can get in Philly. Delicious specials, exquisite wine list, tantalizing dessert tray, and tasty little extra treats all contributed to a most memorable meal!

The decor was very warm and inviting. The tomato anfd cheese appetizer was good and the plate beautifully decorated. My husband and I asked to split a Caesar salad which was very mediocre. He asked for his tuna to be cooked well done and had to send it back as it wasn't cooked enough. My lamb chops were very thin... More

Nice place to go with friends...all 5 of us ordered something different, and we all liked what we got. Upscale atmosphere, service and food made for a very pleasant evening.
