Outstanding ambiance with good food.

It's been a few years since we have been to the White Dog and was pleasantly surprised by how the interior looks. I really liked the intimate feeling yet there was a lot of glass to see into other rooms. The service was a bit stiff. The manager stopped by to ask how everything was. We didn't... read more

We had an outside table on a nice Saturday evening. The beer came then the food. We had gravlax, first time I tasted no dill in a gravlax. Steak tartare, not finely chopped but with half centimetre cubic chunks? Not what I am used to and not my cup of tea. May be they are trying too hard to be... More

Went there for breakfast. The breakfast options are basically limited to pancakes and eggs, the rest of the menu was more for lunch. Service very efficient and good atmosphere. I would recommend go there for brunch / lunch.

Went here with some colleagues this past Saturday for brunch. I had the chicken and apple sausage sandwich. It was decent but not 100% what I was expecting but still good overall. The restaurant is decorated with paintings of dogs - quite funny. I'd come back and try their dinner menu for sure.

This is a very quaint cafe in the heart of U Penn. The food is delicious! It's not inexpensive, but you are getting a very high quality meal for your money. And, the decor is naturally dog-themed. There are also several dining rooms of varying sizes at the White Dog Cafe, which gives it an intimate feel. And while you... More

The restaurant is a converted residence with smartly decorated rooms in dog themes. Each room is unique in and of itself. Staff was polite and attentive. Price is fair. Food choices are unique and our food was very tasty. We dined early on a Sunday morning for their brunch service. The restaurant wasn't busy but timing of the dishes should... More

This quirky restaurant definitely reminded me of a English gastropub which was quite entertaining for a Brit abroad. The staff were extremely attentive which I always rate highly and explained the menu well. As a vegetarian I often find it quite difficult to eat in the States however, luckily at the White Dog Cafe I opted for a ratouille type... More

For those visiting (or attending) Penn Law, this is a great lunch spot. It is reasonably priced and does a great variety of salads, sandwiches and mains at lunchtime.

Went for lunch last week and was fabulous as usually. The ambience is beautiful with many rooms all decorated in a dog theme. Food tasty and fresh. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Definitely will go again.
