Lunch

Stopped by the White Dog for lunch. I love the breaded cod they serve--great light flavor. The salad it comes with isn't my favorite but the fish is worth it. Sat at the bar and read while eating. Nice.

Several of us stopped in for brunch, from the eggs, to the pasta and sandwiches that we ordered everything was excellent. We all felt very comfortable and well taken care of by our waiter.

I got a citrus salmon dish, my husband got lamb, our son got pasta. Every dish was special, the waiter was perfect, the decor was eyecatching and humorous. I would not have expected much from a barley side dish but there was a citrus sauce that lightened it up, I cleaned the plate. Also a nice blood orange cheesecake artfully... More

Our experienced matched so many others. The food is fantastic. Their farm to table (F2T) experience is as wonderful as you'd expect from the first F2T restaurant in the U.S. Service was perfect. The decor and charm are perfectly matched to the experience. Although pricey, the atmosphere is warm and casual.

Had lunch special. Turkey panini, arugula salad and chicken meatball vegetable soup. My Mom had mushroom soup and arugula & beet salad. My soup was OK, the meatball was the size of a large pea! The mushroom soup was excellent!

I really wish I had looked this place up before we went, only because the prices are insane!! $18 for a burger! The food is excellent, and it better be for those prices. The chef does a wonderful job with pairing foods together to make a wonderful dish. I recommend this place to everyone. The only bad thing, besides the... More

Hard to fault the White Dog, which is a block away from the 36th St trolley station (lines 11-13-34-36). Very nice service, although the tiniest bit sycophantic. Delicious "hummus trio" appetizer with (for once!) enough pita and flatbreads for the whole table to enjoy. The (vegan) mushroom gratin from the vegetarian menu was scrumptious; there were three other veg mains.... More

First, this place is class all the way. I have never had a bad meal at White Dog. The drink menu is extensive and the daily specials are usually worth checking out! The celery-apple soup is something to try! This is a mid-priced high quality generally locally sourced restaurant. Definitely make the trip - you'll be very happy you did!

Stopped here for lunch while Christmas shopping. Such a wonderful experience! Food was excellent, decor is adorable! Everything is dog themed so being a dog lover this really added to the experience! We sat at the bar and have to say that our bartender, Tim, was the best!
