Upenn college visit

Cute place in an old building. It's decorated in dog decor. Waiter was helpful with recommendations. All food is farm to table organic. We had handmade linguine with pancetta and pecan crusted tofu. Very convenient to Penn campus.

My son goes to Drexel and taking him and some friends out to a meal they couldn't otherwise afford is part of the spoilin I enjoy when I visit. The White Dog Cafe is an excellent place for it. You'll want to make your student dress up just a bit. The food is excellent, foodie level and very well done.... More

Cool vibe. Laid back atmosphere. Good Food. Parking in front is hit or miss depending on the time of day. On the pricey side at times. Interesting dining spaces you need to check out.

Follow me @TheHaiku_Review After several hours of reunion revelry in the sultry Philadelphia sun, my wife turned to me and said “you should buy me a drink at the White Dog.” What attractive blondes’ request, I try to deliver so it was around the block to the White Dog Café. Great call! Back in the 80’s, when I was an... More

We have dined at the White Dog Cafe several times in the past couple of years. Recent experiences have been disappointing and we won't be returning. The food quality is satisfactory, but clearly their strategy is to make their profits from their drinks. They charged $5.00 for a regular iced tea and $2.50 for each refill. Servers take your order... More

Wonderful eclectic restaurant right near Penn's campus. Food is always fresh and delicious. Brunch omelets and pancakes were delicious. French baked scones and muffins added to the meal.Private rooms available,, excellent wait staff. Reservations are suggested.

I have eaten here a few times over the years and always enjoyed the ambience (upscale casual, mixed crowd, quotes about dogs on the ceiling, wine barrel cellar feel downstaits) and the locally sourced foods. On my last visit for lunch the food was average at best. The bread for the sandwich was dry and breaking apart, The large pile... More

I visited White Dog Cafe on a Monday evening on a whim while on a business trip to Philadelphia in May 2015. It turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time, starting with a wonderful appetizer of lamb's belly, something I have never had before, with scallops as an entree and...
