This quaint restaurant is on a charming side street right in the middle of bustling University City area. It has at least 5-6 different style eating areas that all have their own "Dog Decor" . Dog portraits, statues, leashes etc, are all displayed in a sophisticated, fun manner. The wait staff was elegant but not stuffy. Everything we chose tasted... More

I had the apple -pumpkin soup and just loved it! Perfect for the fall season: sweet and warm and filling. All dinners with me also enjoyed their menu selections.

Really delicious food - casual- friendly- best burger we had in years. This food is rich- very fried but we wanted that when we visited- it's just that you may not be in the mood for that. We were also really lost and hungry and in the rain.I had a lot of allergies and they helped me order something good.... More

Had an excellent waiter, glass of cab was top notch. Really liked the green salad to start. Strip steak was HUGE and cooked poorly - - wanted it more than seared and it was bloody. side potatoes were weak and few in between. I'd go back and try again!!

Service was attentive and discrete for our party of 4. Food came quickly and was surprisingly good. I'm not part of the organic craze but I would pay good money to visit this place again. Everything was beautifully presented. Portions were generous. The chef sent out an amuse bouche for each of us. The wine was good but pricey. Terrific... More

The White Dog is one of my favorites. My last visit we sat at he bar and order a burger and fries along with one of their great draft beers. It was a great experience and the service was great. The full menu is outstanding. Highly recommend the café.

We had dinner there when we took our son to college in the area. The food was fantastic and the restaurant itself was really funky.... all kinds of paintings of dogs. It's a converted house and has lots of different rooms to eat in. If you're in Philadelphia, it's a must!

A little off the main streets but worth the effort to find. I've been here before and they still use farm fresh, organic and locally sourced ingredients. Since my youngest moved to Philly we meet hear when I'm passing through. Brunch favorites are the chocolate waffles and pumpkin pancakes. Can't beat the $4 mimosas either.

This cafe nestled into a really cute street with other restaurants and the Penn Law School. The decor was a little weird -- a lot of dog heads -- but the food was excellent, as was the service. White Dog is know for using locally grown, fresh products. The ambiance was good, and I was easily able to have a... More

What a great restaurant -- farm fresh, locally sourced food,, prepared to perfection. The pasta with lamb bolognese is to die for -- you will never have a more flavorful pasta dish. I requested the recipe, to no avail. The salads were delicious, scallops and crab cake flavorful and perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The restaurant was very cozy and... More
