Stylish place

White dog has a beautiful design and great ambiance. The food was delicious - well prepared, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. I wish I had more time to order more plates. The downsides - it's pricey, especially the drinks. Service - our waiter was nice, but the host at the entrance... read more

I've eaten there multiple times for both lunch & dinner. As an airline captain I get to enjoy a number of eateries around the US.....this is the best. One dish is better tahn the other.

This was our second meal in Philly, and it was awesome. We have been touring around U Penn and found this restaurant by accident. It took us 30 mins to get a table but it was worth it! We had great food, drinks and desserts in the restaurant. And we really appreciated the dog-themed decoration. Above all, the waitress provided... More

Took my family for a Sunday brunch and everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent. The portions were deceiving as they looked small but when you finished everyone was pleasantly full. Highly recommended you try the brunch when in the area.

We hosted a family brunch at the White Dog Cafe this weekend for 16 people. Since we are not from the area, finding a place was a struggle, but this restaurant was everything we needed and more! On a quaint side street I n the heart of the Drexel/ U Penn campuses, the location is ideal for people coming from... More

We were in town for Wharton Follies and had 3 meals in 3 days here, only because there is so little choice in the neighborhood and it was so cold. Lunch is sometimes great here, although like many dishes the flavors can be muddled. Dinner - I would definitely avoid in the future, as there were so many large noisy... More

As an active Penn alumnus, I am on campus at least 6 times per year and usually have at least one meal in the University City area. When I was an undergraduate, the only respectable campus restaurant was La Terrasse, which was located a few doors away from the current location of the White Dog. There now are at least... More

Ate here many years ago and have been waiting for the opportunity to go back. Staff were all so accommodating and friendly. Food was intensely delicious and unique! Definitely worth the trip. Although it is also a bar, the decor is fun for kids.

Quick train ride to university city to see the sights and try a new restaurant. We tried the white dog cafe and were pleased. It was a bit busy mid afternoon and we didn't have a reservation. We sat at the bar and had two great servers!! They were very personable and had great recommendations. There menu was split between... More

We had a terrific meal at the White Dog Cafe. We started with a beet salad which was exceptional. We then had a dish of mussels and another of gnocchi. Everything was excellent. We'd definitely go back.
