It's been a few years since we've stayed in Old City. We couldn't wait to have diner at The Continental. It's just as good as ever. Consistency is always key with restaurants and Steven Starr never disappoints.

Found this restaurant after getting a lead from the Independence Visitors Centre. The restaurant is modelled after an old time diner both inside and out. A great take on a Philly restaurant. We were quickly seated by a friendly hostess. The waitress was also friendly and helpful. This was our first time at a tapas bar so her assistance was... More

Although I travel to Philadelphia on business for over 20 years, this was my first visit to The Continental. All I can say is that I'm so sorry it took me so long to find it!! As a vegetarian, the small plate menu had wonderful options. It was even more fun by ordering multiple items and sharing. Be sure to... More

This place was recommended by the hotel so 3 of us went here for dinner. It was all very, very yummy. Had some bbq chicken, french onion dumplings - service was good, atmosphere a bit funky and food was all good.

I planned a work event at the Continental in their private room at the back - the Chocolate Room. Although there was no chocolate there, there was great food and impeccable service. All of the staff were fantastic - and everyone loved the food. The bartender even created our very own cocktail based off of our company logo! The Lobster... More

Looks like a little old diner but there are no chicken fried steaks here. A great gourmet menu, comfortable, and excellent service and a hidden jewel that we enjoyed several times during 2 weeks in a nearby hotel.

Food was good but didnt get much for your money. It was overpriced in my opinion. We ordered 3 kinds of tapas and they only came with 2 pieces each. The chicken lettuce wraps were like the ones you get at PF Changs and PF Changs are better. The waitress never smiled and acted like it was a pain to... More

Staff was good just like at every other Stephen Starr restaurant I've visited so far. First floor has interesting looking chairs hanging from the ceiling, so I immediately wanted to sit in one. Unfortunately after a few minutes I began to regret that decision as the height of the chairs is apparently not suited for people of my length. And... More

Really good atmosphere - the lighting, the decor, the view to the City outside, etc. The food was good too. My daughter and I shared three small plates: calamari and shrimp (good); potstickers (good) and Korean BBQ tacos (awesome). I also had a local beer that was only $5 (inexpensive for the City) and proceeds supported breast cancer research. The... More
