Very Cool Throwback Restaurant

This place is just a cool step back in time. The barstools are upholstered to look like olives, the lights are olives with skewers through them. It's an interesting combination of a bar/family restaurant, hard to explain. They have a full bar and a great menu. The menu is not extensive but... read more

Met with co-workers here. First time. The salad was incredible! HUGE is an understatement. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The ambiance of the entire restaurant was fabulous. Drinks were weaker than I've ever had before at a Philly bar. But, the salad made up for it.

Stopped by here w/ friends the other night and was pleasantly surprised at the interesting range of the menu items. I had eaten already, but I sampled what others had ordered and it was all very good. The sesame spinach was delicious, the crispy brussel sprouts great, the gazpacho also very nice. Oddly the gazpacho normally comes with feta cheese... More

A must when in Philly! Wonderful food, atmosphere and DRINKS. Make sure to have the Astronaut- named after Buzz Aldrin , so has Tang in it! Great chopped salads with tuna, udon noodle soup and lettuce wraps. No parking except on street. Close to train stop.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere charming. I felt a little rushed and wished the delivery of our tapas could have been spread out a little more. I saved room for dessert, but nothing on the menu appealed to me, which is extremely rare. The desserts seems more like children's candy rather than something I would expect to find... More

The decor here is great, looks like the inside of a giant martini. The food is unexpected and delicious. The place may look like a diner but with unique cocktails and a tapas theme, they are far from it. Excellent small plates, but beware that are really not small. Amazing meatballs in a beautiful and rich tomato sauce.

We went to the Continental for lunch - we had previously been to the AC outlet, but never to Midtown Philly. They were serving the brunch menu and the place was pretty full. There was certainly an important noise factor- I would not eat here if you like a quieter spot. I ordered the burger, with salad, and my husband... More
