Penne was disappointing

The service was a disappointment. We were a party of 7, and our waiter,Roberto, was a bit indifferent in taking our orders. We were served a short time later and did not see Roberto until he came to clear the table. We asked for butter with the bread and were served 4 pats for the whole table... read more

Wow, excellent dinner. The chicken with bread pudding was excellent. Accompanying veggies were creative and delicious

Conveniently located at the Inn at Penn this restaurant seemed well suited to host our friends while visiting Philadelphia. We booked ahead and then needed to change arrival time but repeated telephone calls went unanswered and leaving messages had no apparent impact. The food was reasonable but took far too long to make it to the table. The staff seemed... More

My guests and I did expect much more from this restaurant considering that it was attached to a fancy hotel that we were staying at. In our hotel room at The Inn at Penn we looking at the menu on the provided iPad and noticed that this restaurant was not suited for kids. There was just one kid friendly pasta... More

Attached to the Inn at Penn this is a convenient restaurant when staying at the hotel. It is a good restaurant, the menu does have vegetarian options, not terribly exciting but at least there was a choice. The wine was expensive but the glass I had was pleasant enough. The service was excellent. It is fine for a convenient meal,... More

After reading the last few reviews, I was not expecting much. Like other reviewers however, I was staying in the hotel and was too tired to go our hunting around for somewhere to eat. I walked in to the restaurant and it was as others painted it - big, dark, sort of cold, vacuous. Not many people in there. As... More

Convenient for those staying at Inn at Penn but that is about all that can be said about this place. Tries to give impression of being special but this is tired Italian dining. Not busy on a saturday evening and got quieter by 8pm. Not a good sign. Beet salad was bland but the pappardelle and lamb was poorly seasoned,... More

Went here with business group in town and had a wonderful meal. One always wonders about restaurants in hotel and this one was exceptional. The ambience was great and food exceptional. The night we were there it wasn't too busy, but if packed, suspect conversation might be challenging. Wine list was pricey and draft been choices limited, but adequate. Will... More

Limited menu, but very tasty. A bit pricey, but not over the top. My flatbread was good as was my cavatelli & sauce. My husband had calamari and the hanger steak (which he declared, "too much" and finished).

This was my second time eating at Penne. I only went back because of the convenience to my hotel. I wish I hadn't. There was one waiter on a Thursday night but it was not crowded. The waiter seemed to have better things to do than check on his tables. I had to go to bar to pick up my... More
