The penne we received was perfectly cooked - they did their namesake proud...perfectly al dente pasta. We had the offering with the mushrooms and cannelloni beans - WOW. The branzino was excellent - we had a problem with the scallops as it originally came out seared in a thick layer of black pepper that could not be scrapped off. But... More

My wife and I had dinner there 7/18/14. I had the seared salmon with asparagus, peas and gnocchi. The meal was excellent followed by lemon sorbet which was outstanding. My wife who is vegetarian had the magherita flatbread which was super. She finished with cinnamon gelato which was also very good. Service was informed, pleasant and professional. Great place to... Only sat at the bar and had a couple of Manhattans. They were well done and the bartender was great. In fact they made sure we got the most drink for our money. It's a nice place to sit and have a drink before dinner.

We went here because our fellow diners wanted to meet the sommelier. We went on a Saturday night and it was very quiet, even for Memorial Day weekend. But consequently the service was fantastic. I am not a wine connoisseur, we had several really nice bottle of white and red wines. The food was very varied and satisfying and flavorful,... More

The food is exquisite at this restaurant and the atmosphere is amazing. A wonderful place to eat when in Philly.

Did a salad and lobster risotto, both of which we're disappointing, the lobster ravioli was huge, soupy and extremely bland, tasted like it was just water although there was a lot of meat. Sat in the bar and although I was the only one I'm the bar service was very slow.

Recently, friends associated with Penn dined with us at Penne, a place where one of them eats several times a week. The atmosphere was very comfortable; the wine list was good, and the service was attentive. We began with soups and salads. The butternut squash soup was outstanding. Main courses included pastas and risottos. My lobster risotto was very good,... More

Ate here because I was staying at the Hilton and did not feel like venturing out. I had the sweet potato ravioli, which was the cheapest thing on the menu at $16. That, being said, there weren't many choices on the menu, which was disappointing.

I decided to give Penne a second chance after a mediocre experience a few years ago. I sat at the bar early on a Wednesday evening and ordered a pasta dish. The food was very good and the bartender was attentive and friendly. However, when the bill came I was charged about 50% more for my entree than had been... More

Definitely not something to go out of your way to try, but if you're staying at the Inn at Penn and want dinner or a drink, this place had good food, delicious desserts, nice ambiance and a good staff.
