Convenient and good service

Attached to the Inn at Penn this is a convenient restaurant when staying at the hotel. It is a good restaurant, the menu does have vegetarian options, not terribly exciting but at least there was a choice. The wine was expensive but the glass I had was pleasant enough. The service was excellent. It... read more

After reading the last few reviews, I was not expecting much. Like other reviewers however, I was staying in the hotel and was too tired to go our hunting around for somewhere to eat. I walked in to the restaurant and it was as others painted it - big, dark, sort of cold, vacuous. Not many people in there. As... More

Convenient for those staying at Inn at Penn but that is about all that can be said about this place. Tries to give impression of being special but this is tired Italian dining. Not busy on a saturday evening and got quieter by 8pm. Not a good sign. Beet salad was bland but the pappardelle and lamb was poorly seasoned,... More

Went here with business group in town and had a wonderful meal. One always wonders about restaurants in hotel and this one was exceptional. The ambience was great and food exceptional. The night we were there it wasn't too busy, but if packed, suspect conversation might be challenging. Wine list was pricey and draft been choices limited, but adequate. Will... More

Limited menu, but very tasty. A bit pricey, but not over the top. My flatbread was good as was my cavatelli & sauce. My husband had calamari and the hanger steak (which he declared, "too much" and finished).

This was my second time eating at Penne. I only went back because of the convenience to my hotel. I wish I hadn't. There was one waiter on a Thursday night but it was not crowded. The waiter seemed to have better things to do than check on his tables. I had to go to bar to pick up my... More

I admit that it seemed to be a very busy night for the restaurant. Yet, that isn't an excuse for the level of service I had. It took forever to get my initial glass of water and bread. It took even longer to get my food, which was unimaginative and bland for such typical items of a restaurant menu. After... More

Beyond the dark & sterile ambience, service was brusque & the food at best average. Beyond the fresh fish, which looked good, few, if any, items on the menu were especially imaginative & although the ingredients on the chicken flatbread (avocado, corn, etc.) sounded good, they were sprinkled sparsely on barely warm bread on an otherwise barren cold plate.

I had the pleasure of dinner two nights in a row at Penne. If you are staying in the area or at the hotel I would highly recommend Penne for a dining option. While short on craft beer offerings, the wine list is more than adequate and well priced with many good by the glass options. I had the manager... More

The penne we received was perfectly cooked - they did their namesake proud...perfectly al dente pasta. We had the offering with the mushrooms and cannelloni beans - WOW. The branzino was excellent - we had a problem with the scallops as it originally came out seared in a thick layer of black pepper that could not be scrapped off. But... More
