My family comes pretty often (even though they live 45 minutes away) - for the food and the friendly staff. The food is always prompt, hot, and dericious (as the staff says). A lot of their food is prepared fresh on-site (their homemade macaroni fritters are my favorite, haven't ever encountered something like it before). I hear the ice cream... More

The establishment has been there for decades and although it started out as just an ice cream shop, it has blossomed into a full blown sandwich shop. Breakfast starts the day, lunch tides you over and then there is something to put a smile on your face come dinner time. We had a large lunch so we did not want... More

We recently enjoyed a wonderful meal at More Than Just Ice Cream......... The grilled cheese was just what I needed.... Comfort food! Everyone at the table had something different and everyone enjoyed their meal and the very relaxed atmosphere. Sometimes you just do not feel like cooking and this is the place to go

Delicious comfort food - we have not been disappointed yet! The Mac and Cheese is delicious and we are the biggest fans of their banana cake - it is the best. Also love that they serve Richmond's Ice Cream. Neighborhood a little sketchy after dark but we have walked with the family from our hotel. Wait staff is friendly and... More

Aside from the best apple pie Ala mode in the city, the food quality is excellent. Daily specials and great service at very reasonable prices. This spot is always on my dinner menu. Also a BYOB.

Their pie crust is to die for. It takes like it is made out of sugar cookie dough. My favorite was the coconut cream pie. Ice cream was good too and I am not usually a fan of ice cream.

With all the competition in the ice cream market, including the super market big guys (Ben and Jerry's), small independent shops need to crank it up to compete. In fact, I would bet it is made off site and by some mega manufacture, which can also be ok. Unfortunately this makes for 'ok' ice cream which, while it is good,... More

Came to the city to see Wicked, had a good meal near the theater but we all wanted alitle treat before heading home. A cousin had recommend this place ,he was wise. The Richmond ice cream was rich and creamy and lost of choices. I had the caramel sundae with white chocolate,it was just sweet enough. Nice selection of other... More

Stopped by for ice cream only because I read somewhere that theirs was extra delicious due to having 16% butterfat. The banana ice cream tasted like artificial banana. Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey is my favorite ice cream and this wasn't even in the ballpark. The "Gayborhood" is fun & quirky and their decor fits.

As a previous review mentioned about "earning it", that is how we felt in stumbling across MTJI in spending the day walking 6 miles in the city (Memorial Day Sunday) seeing the sights and enjoying Jim's Steaks earlier that evening with my fiancé. We decided to have a bit of desert before taking a stroll back to our hotel. I... More
