Good food; nice ambiance; great service

We chose, based on proximity to our hotel, and random questions posed to strangers on the street: "where should we go to eat?" We sat outside, as the weather was nice; glad we did. Fun to watch strollers and cars go by. Our food ranged from delicious (calamari and civiche) to so-so (the meats... read more

Great Cuban food & drink, I had an excellent mojito for happy hour. The "Dirty Clothes" for dinner was awesome, but my wife proclaimed her octopus dinner salad was the best salad she has ever had. To top it all off, our server, Jesus, was the most attentive, friendly waiter we have had this year. Great experience.

We love this place. The food is always excellent! The mojitos are awesome! Their happy hour is great. We usually go for dinner but Mixto has an awesome brunch on the weekends, as well. The menu has so many options and everything we've had, thus far, was fantastic!

I enjoyed this restaurant although the paella vegitariana was not the best paella I've ever had (I have Spanish friends and have had the best!). I sampled my friends' dishes and the empanadas were good as were all things with plantains (maduros). The atmosphere was fun and lively. It seems like the South American and Cuban fare was better than... More

We love Cuba Libre so we had stopped here one night for drinks...we left an hour later, tipsy and happy, so we decided to try dinner this time, after friends had raved on about it. I love the Gayborhood and the surrounding bars/restaurants, so we booked it. From start to end, EVERYTHING was fabulous, fresh, made to order, beautifully plated,... More

I have been to Mixto a few times and each time I felt it was "just ok". On other visits I had dinner and it was sufficient enough, but nothing memorable. My last visit, I went for happy hour. I had the appetizers and cocktails and they were tasty. I felt the staff weren't friendly at all and the service... More

My wife, daughter and I went to Mixto on a Monday evening (6:15p). We had reservations, but could have just walked in. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive during the entire visit. We ordered empanadas as an appetizer (one each chicken, beef and cheese) which were served with papaya and pepper (hot) dipping sauces. Wow! They were really... More

This place is worth your time if you're in the mood for some Latin food. It has a great atmosphere and in a pretty good part of town. The Mojito's were really good and the Ropa Vieja was pretty stellar.

We had the "Mexican Breakfast" and it was excellent. I enjoyed an orange mango mamosa with my breakfast and I must say it was the best Brunch I have enjoyed in a very long time. Great food and great service!

Food was very good. Fair prices. What made this 3 stars was our server, who was HORRIBLE. Short stout woman, Latin descent. Slow, not friendly, slow. Oh, did I say SLOW?!?
