Let me start out by saying I have celiac disease, so dining out since the diagnosis has been very minimal. When a friend suggested this place after she heard it was gluten free I was a bit skeptical. Turns out, everything except one dessert is gluten free. So not only was I able to order from the entire menu, but... More

I went here with my sister on a Monday night. The restaurant is warm and inviting. The decor is eclectic. Our server was very attentive but not annoyingly so. We split the octopus tostada and chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were a very generous portion. The meat was delectable. The octopus was also delicious, and all of the toppings were fresh and... More

My husband was born and raised in Southern California where authentic Mexican food is as prolific as sand on the beach. Since we moved to Philadelphia, he has been craving something more nuanced than the Tex Mex that pervades the area. When I took him to Lolita for his Birthday, he was not disappointed with the freshness and quality of... More

Delicious tacos served late! Loved their late night menu. Excellent food for reasonable prices. Excellent service - location can't be beat.

Came here on recommendation from a colleague and so glad I did! Not your typical Mexican restaurant! Small space but absolutely worth the noise and cramped quarters. Took the recommendation of the bartender, Dave, and had the chilaquiles, something I had not even heard of until this trip. Excellent fusion of flavor and textures. Saw multiple people with taco plates,... More

I recently visited Lolita with two friends for dinner. The restaurant is very tiny, so there weren't any tables available. Instead, we sat at the bar, and I'm glad we did--the seats at the end of the bar look into an open prep area, and it was fun to see the food prepared. Because it's so small, however, I definitely... Made reservations for a Friday evening (must). Place is narrow and tight, but most downtown Philly restaurants of this caliber are. You will be seated close, but again, most are. Food was very good, and have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. Fresh, flavorful dishes, lively atmosphere, great drinks. Worth a stop.

My sangria was delicious, and my shrimp tacos were excellent. Fun atmosphere and convenient location!

Fish tacos were great, small soft tortillas, fresh ingredients. We sat at a table for 2 and were barely 6 inches from the next couple, who appeared to be on a first date. Since the noise prevented us from having a conversation, we learned all about our neighbors' lives... But did not enjoy the ambience.

Loved my birthday lunch at Lolita & next time we go, which I hope will be soon, I plan to order the very same thing: Served as is or topped w/ either pork or chicken, Valerie's Salad is a heaping plate of varied glistening greens, packed w/ avocado, beans, corn & cheese, garnished w/ crunchy toasted tortilla slivers & awash...
