Good Mexican food...a little loud

Interesting menu. Great to share as small plates. Really enjoyed the guacamole with bacon and the duck tamale was better than what you will find in most Mexican restaurants. Tables are very, very tight together. Luckily we had nice neighbors. Restaurant interior is brick and VERY loud. We had... read more

My husband and I ended up here on the Fourth of July while visiting Philadelphia for the day, deciding to skip the crowds lined up on Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the free concert and fireworks show. Well, we weren't the only ones, Lolita was very crowded but we found a nice spot at the bar. We are from California and... More

I went to this place late one night after the plenary session for a conference I was attending. Although we had a huge group (12 or so), the wait staff did an excellent job of getting us seated promptly. The food was good, but honestly, the service was better. Our group split into 2 tables of 6 each. When the... More

It's no fluke - you need a reservation to get into this tiny space, or the will to stalk the bar patrons until someone leaves. (Tip - if the bar isn't your thing, sit outside, as the noise is deafening in the dining room.) Every single thing on the menu is incredible, but the pork will make you say Oh.... More

Everything we ate at Lolita was flavorful and not too heavy. The guacamole was excellent, the beet salad tasty, but a little salty, the shrimp tacos were fresh. The red snapper Veracruz was cooked to perfection. The coffee flan for dessert was a standout. Service was excellent. We had an early dinner on a Sunday, so it wasn't too loud,... More

Something about the atmosphere of Lolitas made me stop as I walked by and take a look. Decided to change plans and grab a seat on the sidewalk to enjoy the beautiful evening and try some Mexican food in Philly. Living in Texas, this was a risk and caused expectations to be low. Based on the cucumber, jalapeno margarita, those... More

We were actually headed to another restaurant, but it had an hour and half wait. Decided to put our name on Lolita's list and were sat within 15 minutes outside on a very nice night. This was not a traditional Mexican dinner, but it was fabulous! We had the chips salsa, chicken tacos, and shrimp tacos with black beans and corn.... More

Really good, sharp and authentic flavours, the tacos were excellent and the cocktails were great. We sat at the bar which was a little awkward, it's a tight space. Our server was a little out of it, but the experience was good.

Lolita serves good (not great) Mexican food. I friend took me there for lunch. The menu is limited, but you can get vegetarian preparations. The guacamole is excellent, and you get a variety of vege chips, taste homemade. The biggest problem is the noise, which is exacerbated with our table being 1" from the next one. The noise hurt my...
