Vivacious Victor Cafe

The Victor Cafe provides outstanding Italian cuisine accompanied by professional singers. The waiters & waitresses suspend serving and perform opera and show tunes from musicals. Indeed, a most unique experience...good food, friendly, knowledgeable staff and quality musical entertainment.

Took the wife here for her birthday. I had the veal and she had the steak, both were excellent (and I am very particular about veal). Our server was very attentive, even though she had to sing her aria while we were there. About every 20 - 30 minutes one of the servers does a song for the patrons and... More

What separates The Victor Cafe from most, if not all, other restaurants in this city is the fact that the wait staff sing opera to/for the customers on a regular basis. Every 15 minutes or so a bell is rung, and one of the wait staff gives a short introduction a piece, which they then proceed to sing to the... More

My husband and I recently dined at Victor Cafe. The atmosphere is lovely - very South Philadelphia, exactly what we wanted. Each of the waiters/waitresses was extremely nice, competent, knowledgeable about the menu, and checked on us the appropriate number of times. Each one had a beautiful voice, and we looked forward to each performance (aria). It can be frustrating... More

I completely agree with one of the previous reviewers that said "go for the atmosphere but not the food." Food: poor to mediocre at best. First, we had clams- very very fishy, so they were obviously spoiled. My tilapia dish was just OK- loaded with lemon and not much else. A friend ordered "risotto" and it came out as white... More

Unique experience! Restaurant has Old World Charm, hearty Italian cuisine, and servers singing Opera! A "must do" for special occasions or to take out-of-town visitors. Our server, John, was fun and highly entertaining. And, an exceptionally talented opera singer! Thank you John, for making our evening extra special!

Every time I am in Philly this is a definite dining experience for my guests and I. This wonderful restaurant is like stepping into the past. Pictures on the wall of so many famous people who have eaten there over the many years. Approximately every 20 minutes one of the waiters sing an aria or beautiful song for about 5... More

Okay so we had reservations for 7:45. There were 6 of us on Saturday night March 14 and only 2 of us have been there before tonight. There is a lounge upstairs with sofas and chairs to grab a drink and relax. It is very quiet and the walls are adorned with celebrities who have visited the restaurant. The waiter... More

It was packed last night, so make a reservation and wait upstairs at the super kitschy bar, lounge. It's like having a drink in someone's old but elegant candle lit parlor. Couches, wing back chairs, RCA Victor dog and phonograph memorabilia adorn the walls and the atmosphere was amazing! The waiters are all opera singers and the bar tender was... More
