Italian Market Gem

I first saw this restaurant as a suggestion on google and by the many positive reviews, I decided to try it out. Since my boyfriend at the time loved Italian I thought it was perfect for his birthday! I usually reserve just in case; it's a pretty popular restaurant, but every time I've gone here... read more

This came highly recommended. The food was good, but not great, as the hype would suggest. It was affordable. I will not be rushing back, but would eat there in a pinch. Service was fine.

As a young boy growing up in Philly, Ralph's was the one sure place you could go for a genuine home-style, authentic, home-cooked Italian meal. Now it is nothing more than a fast-food, poor service, quick turn over quasi-Italian restaurant. I had the eggplant parmagana....ugh! It tasted like it was prepared days before, frozen and then quick-cooked in a micro... More

When you grow up eating Italian food, it just takes seconds to sort out the best from the rest. Ralph's provides the best. My wife had their famous Veal Parm. While she said it wasn't the best dish of that she'd had, my veal and artichoke hearts certainly was. It was cooked to perfection and not swimming in a pool... More

This traditional South Philly restaurant has very good real Southern Italian Food that's worth trying but the service here is much to be desired. Very tight seating especially if your a big person. Live the food but not the service.

Solid, no frills spot in South Philly on the North End of the Italian Market. Food was average to above average, and our actual server was friendly enough, although the rest of the staff made our table like we were trespassing. To be fair we were one of the later tables to arrive, and were the last table left at... More

I value the history of the place, I get that they've earned their place. But good food and history don't come second to customer service. Train the weight staff.

Building is classic "old school" neighborhood place in South Philly. Food is OK but nothing was a standout. The service was fine, and I liked the classic feel of the place with old world murals and plaster filigree on the ceilings.

Ralph's Italian Restaurant at 760 S. 9th,is a special experience for anyone visiting Philadelphia. A must, in my opinion. Set in the Italian Market area, this gem has been serving delicious pasta since 1904. We had two servings of muscles in red and white sauce and both were outstanding. Portions are more then generous. The lasagna is enough for 3... More

Went there with another couple for first time last week! Old school Italian atmosphere and dinner was good! A couple things..... Espresso served in a coffee cup, no homemade desserts, and totally not restaurants fault but a couple next to us screaming across room frequently to another table! This place is good and is pretty neat to read about the... More
