Loved it; a classic

Yes it is very old school but what else would you want after walking through the streets looking at all the Italian food. The staff was friendly and helpful without being over the top; even had a suggestion from a regular on dessert. The meal was just what you would want and expect from the oldest... read more

Try the Veal! Not just saying that I actually did have the veal Parm. This place feels and looks old Italian that you will think your gonna get whacked before your soup comes. I love Ralph's atmosphere and friendly staff.

Pasta was somewhat rubbery, and veal dish was mediocre. It's an old traditional restaurant in South Philly, but it's glory days have passed

We went to just find a place to eat that was casual after flying in. Marriott recommended this place and it was beyond expectations. Food was amazing!

What a place I have been 3 times in the past few months The food is always good and the veal is the best ever! The wine is a little pricey but the house is worth every dime A must go if you in the city Reservations a good idea

I have to question anybody's option & understanding about food to give this place the ratings it's received, I really think 90% of people have no clue what good food is! I go out to eat what I can't or don't want to make, I'm no cook but a great eater & very well traveled all over the world &... More

What a wonderful place. My first visit to Ralph's Italian Restaurant. Food was exquisite and the atmosphere was wonderful. The Veal Scallopine and Spinach Gnocchi with Gorgonzola were to die for. The closeness of the tables enhances the experience. Cannoli Cake for desert was wonderful as well. Of course, the Lemoncello didn't hurt.

Mussels in white sauce were excellent, garlicky and spicy. Great classic veal scallopini and eggplant parmigiana. And the cannoli and tiramisu were the perfect ending. This is not foodie fare; it's classic Italian comfort food. And the atmosphere was classic South Philly. We loved it!

Went to this restaurant as it was recommended as a popular Italian restaurant in philly! First we were told they don't make homemade pasta as that "would take too long"- hmmmm...curious response. The food came out so quick it had to be precooked and finished off when ordered- chicken Parmesan and chicken Alfredo. The mussels were undercooked. The bread wasn't... More

Located just down the street from the Italian Market, Ralph's Italian Restaurant in South Philly is the oldest continually operating Italian restaurant in the US. They serve up delicious, "stick to your ribs" Italian cuisine to include some of the best lasagna I've ever eaten. This along with fresh bread from Sarcone's Bakery which is located next door, an antipasto,... More
