Never had a bad meal here in the forty years I've been going. Every guest I've taken here has also enjoyed it. Most of the staff has worked here for decades. Exceptional wine list, modestly priced. They have never had to advertise because word of mouth has been so strong over the years. Suggest the mushroom soup and the chèvre... More

I went in with a friend after 9 in the middle of the week. Other restaurants were not as accommodating. The service was wonderful. They were so hospitable. The food was delicious as well! I would definitely return.

The food here was impeccable. We each ordered a different salad and entrée and sampled all 4. Each one was perfect: the tilapia, salmon, pork & butternut ravioli. The ambiance was friendly. Tables are close, conversations cross table lines, everyone was very relaxed. It had a very neighborhood feel to it. The service was efficient, potentially abrupt, not fluffy in... More

delicious food but save room for the desserts but enjoy all their great dishes-this casual place is always jumping-an upstairs bar but quieter downstairs but still bustling--the service is good and fast-the Kennett Square mushroom soup was very good -always go for Kennett square mushrooms in Philadelphia as it is a local specialty-coconut cream pie is tops in the world.... A really nice choice in the Rittenhouse area. Low on pretension and high on friendly substantial food. Upscale american Inn food - think grilled trout, thick cut pork chops, pate. All tasty, portions are very nice, prices just undercontrol (mid-20's) and wines reasonable priced (unusual for Philly). Nothing incredibly creative but flavorful and fresh. The restaurant is quite small and... More

Recommended by a colleague who had grown up in Philly. The restaurant has been here for forty years. I was very impressed. Small, intimate. Great service. I ordered a comfort meal (it was bloody cold outside) and couldn't believe how flavorful the mushroom soup and chicken dijon were. I'm going back tonight with another colleague.

Although Friday, Saturday, Sunday has been around for decades, it still delivers excellent food in a warm, cozy atmosphere. On a recent visit, everything we ate was delicious. We began with the signature mushroom soup, which was rich and filled with flavor. All our main dishes, whether tenderloin of pork, rack of lamb, fish or pasta, were all well-prepared and... More

My girlfriend and I ate here for my birthday. I'd been here previously but she hadn't. I love the cozy atmosphere. The small dining room and soft music made the ambiance amazing. The pork tenderloins and filet mignon were cooked to perfection. The service was second to none. I can't wait to come back!

A hidden gem off Rittenhouse square. Food was exceptional but it is the atmosphere that makes this special

An intimate dining opportunity close to Rittenhouse square. The rack of lamb, the pork tenderloin, the desserts, all worth writing home about. Nice local comfortable atmosphere. The menu and specials could be a bit easier to follow, but the service makes up for that. It did seem clear that the regulars got special attention, but we were treated well. I... More
