Still good after all these years

Still good food after so many years. Don't miss the traditional mushroom soup and very reasonable wine pricing.

I took the steep walk up the stairs to the fish tank bar a few weeks ago to find that some things in life remain constant. I had a drink and then headed to the theater. I returned a few weeks later for a bite with my friend and her daughter post theater. We ate downstairs because there was no... More

It was cold and wet outside, but, inside this cozy restaurant, everything was warm and delicious. The service was very courteous, coping gracefully with our lactose intolerance, and other special needs. We all had fish, and really enjoyed our choices. And, at the end, the waitress only charged us for the $24 Pinot Blanc, even though we had drunk the... More

Friday, Saturday, Sunday is one of our favorite spots in Philly. Anywhere you dine in the restaurant is great, but do yourself a favor and go upstairs to the Tank Bar. It's a small section of the restaurant with seats at the bar and just three small tables but if you can snag one of them, you're in for a... More

Stopped into the bar for drinks after a not so relaxing evening. Very comfortable and cozy upstairs. The drinks were delicious. I only wish we had tried the food! Very relaxed service, be ready to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. Will definitely return for dinner.

Despite the restaurant's name and usual service times, it was open on a Wednesday night for New Year's Eve. We were part of the early sitting, perfect for us given our plans. All the service staff were in a festive mood when we arrived and prompted us to get in the spirit of the evening. The rather quaint decor was... More

Have not been to this spot in several years but visited while in town for the holidays. Still has the very reasonable bottles of wine, the mirrors with tiny lights as decor, and terrific food. The five leaf salad with honey, goat cheese and walnuts was fresh and delicious. Then I had the filet Mignon au poivre, perfectly cooked. My husband... More

I have loved every experience at this restaurant. It is small, quaint, and cozy. the staff are friendly, unobtrusive, and very accommodating. The wine prices are very reasonable and the food is always delicious. The butternut squash ravioli keep me coming back for more. Even when I want to try something new I will convince my wife to order the... More

Had dinner here recently on a busy Saturday night. We had a reservation but had not requested upstairs. When we walked in there were a couple of large groups seated and it was very loud so we asked about the availability of a table upstairs. The waiter took us up to see what was open. Fortunately, there was an open... More

We met some friends here on Friday night. This is small place very near Rittenhouse Square with a cozy feeling. I had delicious butternut ravioli, my friend had rack of lamb and the men had pork chops. Everyone seemed pleased with their meals. The portions were just right. The service was attentive and pleasant even though the restaurant was full. My... More
