Ok, so I was a cook here for about 3 months and quit. This has to be the most foul place to eat on south st! They have roaches, nats, rats, termites, and water bags. The food is not kept at the required temperature because all the fridges are broken upstairs. One morning I opened and there was a roach in the... More

Me and friend ate here for lunch on a saturday afternoon. We were seated right away. Waitress took our orders and we had our food in ten minutes. The burgers and the milk shakes were delicious. The place was clean and the prices were reasonable I would eat here again.

Although filled w/ young patrons, baby boomers especially will feel right at home at Johnny Rockets in South Philly, where lots of red vinyl, old Life Magazine covers & juke boxes - yes, juke boxes - for a nickel (supplied by the house) play favorites from the '50s (Remember the Everly Brothers?); so Boomers will know all the lyrics &... ....then come down to Johnny Rocket's. Ok, so it's a chain, but it's worth it. Go in for a malted milk shake. And if you still want something sweet after shovelling a few kilocalories from the dessert menu, there's always Rita's Water Ice further down South Street. (And no, a water ice is not the same as a 'snow cone',... More

I was looking forward to my first visit to this Johny Rockets. Although the staff was very friendly, I felt very uncomfortable eating at a place where "cleanliness" is not their best asset. I watched some of the servers cleaning the tables and they just wiped once and whatever they picked up it was good enough for them. I saw... More

My 15-yr-old son has eaten chicken fingers/strips at a zillion different restaurants, and Johnny Rockets' chicken strips are definitely in his top 3 (he's very picky so that's saying a lot!). I had a burger that was also really good. The orange shake was so delicious!!!! Our server (Kristian) has a very pleasant personality and does his job very well!

I tried Johnny Rocket's because the restaurant looks colorful and a bit retro from the outside but it was really disappointing. I got the Route 66 burger and bacon/cheese fries. The burger had nothing special, no flavour, no taste but the fries were really nasty! The bacon/cheese/fries quickly turns into a mixture which is basically pure fat, sugar and salt!... More

This corner hamburger joint is colorful and retro in it's decoration. Old rock and roll favorites blast from the speakers. The wait staff sings happy birthday at your table. Children and those young at heart will love this place. Unfortunately, the food is just average.
