Enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana - only thing keeping this item from being the best in Philly is that the breaded eggplant should have been firmer. Otherwise, the marinara sauce was excellent and the cheese layer was perfect. The eggplant parm dish was large and turned into a second dinner the next day. Other family members enjoyed their (hefty) sandwiches very... More

Always reliable, always good, always consistent. Just a good Italian meal every time. Our family has been going here for years. The management sometimes is a bit big for their britches, but it's tolerable.

This is a wonderful homespun Italian restaurant in the Italian Market district. The waitresses have been there forever, and there were several local families there. The food and wine were basic but delicious. I would go back there in a minute! We loved the meal and the experience.

If you a looking for the most delicious, authentic Italian -- treat yourself to this wonderful restaurant. It is old school. We felt so welcomed by the staff, who made us feel like we were regulars. I will tell all my friends when in Philly - they must visit this gem of a restaurant. I can't wait to go back.

Incredible service. Nice atmosphere. But more important -- absolutely incredible food. I like liver -- any liver...even poorly cooked -- but i LOVE liver that is prepared well. The chicken liver a la Romana was SUPERB. Liver sauteed perfectly -- not overcooked, not too pink -- with onions, green peppers, and mushrooms, swimming in a glorious sauce that I mopped... More

The Italian market area of Philadelphia is a unique place. Time of day and day of the week changes the atmosphere just like the the seasons. Evening it appears dirty and deserted, so a visit to Villa di Roma seems to be questionable for the first time visitors. Empty carts along the sidewalks, the smell of food that has good... More

My family took my mom for a special birthday celebration. We have been coming here since I was a little girl. We come here for a lot of big birthday celebrations. This was was a horrible experience. The service was not good at all. We had to ask for things three or four times. My six year old ordered spaghetti... More

Authentic South Philly Restaurant. Chicken Cutlets are pounded and breaded perfectly. I also highly recommend the Villa Salad. Make sure to bring cash they don't take credit cards.

As a former resident of South Jersey, having now lived in Charlotte, NC, for years, this is the Philly restaurant I truly miss. We're talking local, local, Italian Market, neighborhood local; the food is FANTASTIC (chicken Sicilian my absolute favorite) the service is warm and engaging...."you need more bread sweetie?" The price is right, the carafe of house wine engaging,... More

We went in late on a Friday around 9:30. The restaurant was about half-empty and there were a number of seats at the bar. We sat down, ordered two drinks and asked to put in a food order. The bartender said "one minute." We waited 5 more and asked again. Then he said, "oh, we're not taking food orders at... More
