My grandpa ate here, my dad eats here, I eat here. This place is Philly. The buzzer goes off if the girls are chatting too much. The sauce, the mussels, the garlic bread. You cannot beat the atmosphere and the charm of this restaurant. Its more then a place to eat, it is a piece of history that makes you... More

This place is so old school that we really enjoyed it. If in Philly you must head to South Philly for some true Italian food

Meatballs were very good but sauce was ok. Raviolis were not good, especially with an excellant ravioli place next door. Spagetti mediteranian was good. Service was good and it was not expensive

Had a Meatball Parm sandwich. I had gotten word from some others they had the best meatballs in the city. They were not lying. The interior is a bit dated, but taste trumps decor.

Not the place we wanted to go to but we were unable to get into the other place a couple of blocks away. A local heartily recommended Villa Di Roma for the red sauce so we ventured. A bit of a wait and the place is NOT at all fancy. In fact, it was only a step up from a... More

Friendly, family owned and operated. It may not be Grandpa and Grandma in the kitchen anymore, but it must be their exact recipes from decades ago. Don't let the crowd or perceived wait time deter you from eating here. Grab a seat at the bar (if there is one open) and have a Peroni or a glass of wine while... More

So I go in with my gal to have a quick meal at the bar. They seemed a little clumsy about serving me at the bar but said they could find a waitress for me. Waitress was a little miserable but did her job. Anyway, to begin, we ordered a side or broccoli rabe, and they brought out sauteed spinach.... More

We love Philadelphia's Italian Market and one of the good places to eat on 9th Street, in the heart of the market, is Villa di Roma. They have a friendly bar scene and then a separate dining room/s. Authentic Italian for sure, and well worth it for couples or families. But I can't say it's "the best" Italian food in... More

Dominic makes everybody part of his family. And his family is all that works at the restaurant from all the history he gave us. The meatballs are tasty and not mealy like some. They are huge and along with the Ravioli I was more than satisfied. Portions are more than generous, prices are not cheap, but very reasonable. It's hard... More

We went to Villa Di Roma to eat on Saturday night and brought our nephew before going to a Phillies game. Our waitress named Jean I feel like I knew her for years, she was a true love! I could not decide what I wanted to eat and she even sat down next to me to help look at the... More
