Philadelphia prides itself on being a foodie paradise, and in terms of food itself, it is a great place to find fantastic meals. BUT, and this is a big but, it sorely loses on the eating experience front. The restaurants with great food are too often deafeningly loud, to the point that it is aversive and completely takes away from... More

From the moment we were seated the ambiance made you feel like you were somewhere other than Philadelphia. We ordered the Made-at-Tableside Caesar Salad which is one of the best I've ever eaten and the warm Bread was also excellent. When our entrees arrived, they were hearty yet still had a delicate quality to them. I got the Pescatore Pisa... More

I came here with a group of friends for a birthday dinner recently. We attended one of the mystery theater dinners in the upstairs portion of the restaurant. The show was cheesy as expected but SO much fun, and I love that there was audience participation. The actors were a blast. As far as the food goes, the entrees were very... More

Great prices and outstanding food- really good, fresh and top notch ingredients. The pasta is home made and cooked just aboiut right. Staff was great, told us some of the history of the place- 200+ years old and it looks it- and all of the food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait a few minutes more than... More

We were there last Wednesday (2/18) during a cold spell. We were warmly greeted and seated downstairs. Great atmosphere. Every table was not filled, but there were plenty of people there. We had swordfish and a seafood pasta. Both were good, if not close to excellent. The wine could have come in larger servings. All in all it was a... More

Went with a reservation for Valentine's Day dinner. Warm greetings from coat check and the hostess started things off nicely. Seemed like every table was full on our way down into the basement to our table. Like most city restaurants, we were very close to our fellow diners. The tiny table made it nearly impossible to have bread and an... More

Had wonderful meal. all of the dishes were excellent for our party. They were very accomadating for a large party with no reservations. However, the wait to be served was very long, so long that we needed to add quarters to the meter. Though the wait was long the server was very nice about it.

Every year before Christmas, friends and I eat dinner here, and are always amazed at the quality of the food, the lovely setting and the relative quiet in an enclosed, crowded space. The duck is super-good, the pasta dishes elegant and excellent. You do need reservations, and be prepared to pay for parking (best choice: Front St. has outdoor spaces,... More

My fiancé and I came here a after we found a groupon deal and saw many positive reviews. We both had chicken entrees and a glass of wine. Price are reasonable and the food was delicious and plentiful. Desserts looked scrumptious but we were already filled. Atmosphere is very cozy and private. Safe area too, we walked from the sheraton... More

The restaurant has an agreement that you can park at their lot up the street on Lombard. I guess I am use to going to Peter Lugar's in Brooklyn with their lot and parking for free. I mistakenly parked at the Bistro lot thinking that the restaurant had an agreement with the lot. More on this later. The restaurant is... More
