Ate there with family. It has a cozy, warm environment. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was prepared prompt and was excellent. Good portions, my teenage daughter could not finish her plate. Good wine selection. Will be going again.

A former granary from the 1700's this restaurant has cobblestone and brick walls with booths for 2 with a sconce candlelight in each that makes for most romantic and private dining in the Society Hill (older section) of Philadephia. Also table is the center of the room for larger groups Large menu with very large portions of excellent food. I... More

It was one of the few Italian dinner I had during my trip between Canada and USA. Very good food, Italian raw materials, kind waiters, a good price/quality ratio. To be tried!!!

I am a very snobby eater (and I never write reviews) but this place was fabulous! From the food to the ambiance and the service! The prices are great considering the incredible quality. Everything is fresh and delectable. I just moved to Philly from LA so as a food snob I am very happy with Bistro Romano! - Lisa B

Thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The atmosphere is very romantic, we sat in the private wine cellar dining room, which is illuminated with candles and has rose petals all over the table. The food was outstanding from the caesar salad, which seems an art long gone by, to their specialty pastas, had a lobster and veal ravioli, both excellent. Also... More

This restaurant has a mystery theatre attached on Friday and Saturday nights that it host. We went for a friends bday which they will acknowledge during dinner. The staff is in character the whole time while serving you beverages and food. This is separate from the restaurant so they have a picked out meal plan to choose from. You can... More

I found this restaurant on Tripadvisor. "Wow." - Old, old building. - Great pastas. - Atmospheric downstairs dining room with exposed brick walls. See photo. - Cozy, very attractive bar on the main level. It was so good, I went back the next night.

We had two wait staff for our party of 12. The food was excellent. Everyone was pleased with their food portions and taste. We sat in the basement (preferable seating) which is brick everywhere and doesn't really feel like a basement. Whoever thought of that is genius. Table side prep for Caesar salad, which was great. Cold beers. Water glasses... More

My husband and I had to pleasure of eating at this fine establishment over the past weekend. Our youngest son was asking for his girlfriends hand in marriage. Our whole family came in to Philly to celebrate the happy occasion. What started out as a small gathering turned into a table fro 17 plus one little 15 month old. They... More

Excellent appetizers, pasta, entrees and wine list . Ample choices for vegetarians. We celebrated my daughter's birthday here with her boyfriend (both veggies). My wife and I shared the mushroom ravioli with pancetta followed by the duckling in a Barolo reduction. The old brick basement made a very cozy and romantic environment. Service was very attentive.
