We have just completed another superb meal at Bistro Romano. This is our third visit in the past year. The quiet and romantic ambience, attentive and gracious service enhance carefully prepared and delicious dinners to make this restaurant our favorite in Philadelphia, one we reserve for special occasions. My daughter chose Bistro Romano for a family dinner based on the reviews on Tripadvisor, which I generally find quite reliable. As noted in some of the recent reviews, service was excellent, the atmosphere is very nice, restaurant is not too loud to have a conversation, and the Caesar salad (made at the table) was very good. Also, the table... More

The entrées or absolutely delicious! The Caesar salad is a must have! In addition, it is a place that you can visit for a romantic evening out or a special evening with your girlfriends. Either way, you will love the atmosphere!

We drove into the city about 8:15. It was cold and the city was eerily quiet do to the holiday weekend. We parked at a parking garage at 2nd and Lombard. About 1 block away from Bistro Romano. The location is a historic area of old Philadelphia known as Society Hill. The streets are cobble stoned and the sidewalks are... More

Was a good experience. Food was very good, but service held me back from giving it a 5 star rating. Our waiter wasn't as good as others we noticed. Didn't do any extras, just took order and offered us the desert menu. Didn't ask how everything was during our meal, didn't offer us coffee when handing dessert menu. Too bad... More

This was a dinner for five. We ate downstairs, in what probably was the basement before the restaurant was renovated. It was a little dark We were seated next to the wine room. The food was excellent as was the service. So why not excellent reviews you may ask. Here is the answer. I'm next to the wine room and... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. Bistro Romano is not only great for its food, but the atmosphere is romantic and truly one of a kind. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone coming in to Philadelphia or a local friend looking for something special. The neighborhood is great for walking off the meal or stopping... Philadelphia prides itself on being a foodie paradise, and in terms of food itself, it is a great place to find fantastic meals. BUT, and this is a big but, it sorely loses on the eating experience front. The restaurants with great food are too often deafeningly loud, to the point that it is aversive and completely takes away from... More

From the moment we were seated the ambiance made you feel like you were somewhere other than Philadelphia. We ordered the Made-at-Tableside Caesar Salad which is one of the best I've ever eaten and the warm Bread was also excellent. When our entrees arrived, they were hearty yet still had a delicate quality to them. I got the Pescatore Pisa... More
